Dragging app between workspaces not working
When I try to drag an app between workspaces, it doesn't move. I'm using
compiz. When I put an arrow over an app in the workspace panel viewer
(whatever that is called), it says click to start dragging, but no go. Any
ideas?
Thanks,

switch metacity->compiz (compiz ignores its own settings)
I have configured compiz to use 1 workspace and 4 viewports and metacity
to use 4 workspaces.
When I start compiz while metacity was running it uses 4 workspaces and
4 viewports (ignoring the gconf settings).
When I restart X so that compiz is started before metacity this does not
happen (it uses what its configured for).
bug or feature?
if feature can it be disabled?

Try KDE Plasma Workspaces
I installed KDE Plasma Workspaces on centos 7 in virtualbox. ?I didn't find in any settings panel or during login a way to use it. ?I googled to see how to use it, but there are some that say do this but then someone says no do this (editing some files). ?I've used some linux distros that allow you to choose during login which to use. ?Since I don't see it at login after a reboot, is

non-1 vertical virtual size
For Expo purposes (among others), I like my vertical virtual size to be
more than 1 (typically 2).
But I bump into several problems with that:
- the panel's "worspace switcher applet" doesn't seem to understand it
right:
- if I tell it to "show all workspaces in 1 row", then my
6 workspaces (3x2) get displayed correctly, but clicking on them
only lets me

Window listing on different workspaces
Hello everyone,
what I am trying to achieve seems rather simple. I would like to
enumerate all open windows with respect to their current workspace. The
problem seems to be that Compiz does not differentiate between
workspaces as other (EWMH compliant?) window managers do. I'm not even
sure whether this is a bug or a design decision. Let me explain this
with an example:
Running Compiz gives

kde 4.3 beta 2, compiz 8.2 - panel pager doesn't work until plasma crash and restart
Listmates,
Woking with compiz 8.2 on kde 4.3 beta 2 on Archlinux, the plasma "kicker"
pager widget does not work correctly after compiz 8.2 is started. Before
compiz is started you see the 4 small desktop representations stacked 2x2.
After you start compiz, the panel only shows a single large pane 'Desktop 1'
no matter what desktop you are on.
The strange part is that

Lotus Notes and Compiz under Ubuntu
I installed Lotus Notes 7.0.3 and have configured the nlnotes.exe app with "Allow the window manager to control the windows" option. My current Wine version is 0.9.59 and I'm currently running under the Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 release and I have Compiz enabled and 4 virtual workspaces.
When I start Notes on one of the virtual workspaces, login, and leave it running.. The moment I switch

Lotus Notes 7.03 crash when changing workspaces
I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 with five workspaces set up in GNOME. I assume
it's using compiz (I didn't tell it not to), which I know can interact
problematically with Wine.
I use Notes 7.03 for Windows quite happily in Wine at work. (I know
there's a Linux client, but the installer seems very hard to get hold
of casually.) As long as I use only one workspace. If I open it in one

keybindings patch, gnome-keybinding-bridge and vignettes plugins
Hi folks,
For ubuntu specs and for a better desktop integration of compiz, I made
some patchs and plugins.
Focus prevention is now in main stream, and really better can i made :)
First the workspace and terminal keybinding patch. Since my last email I
updated the patch.

workspaces/desktops/viewports on top/bottom of cube?
I know this has probably been asked before, but, I'll ask anyways:
Workspaces/Desktops/whatever on the top and bottom of the cube, is there
any chance this will ever happen? I love how in gnome you can have work
spaces in rows/columns, and i tend to have 4-6 workspaces (well 6, but
only 4 gets used all of the time, but its nice to have the "buffer"
workspaces. since using compiz
