Could this be an advantage of CentOS over the PNAELV distribution?
Hello all, I understand that when releasing updates the CentOS team strips logos and such things from the upstream sources. If I'm not mistaken there is also a certain QA process going on before the actual releases, at least for major updates like the upcoming 5.2 version. Does this happen also for security updates? Since I don't mind the small delay from the upstream releases I was

Kickstart Network Configuration Issues
Hello all, I've been struggling with an issue with my kickstart configuration for a while now. My kickstart files are stored within the initrd image. What I would like to do here, is when the kickstart first starts up, I want it to grab a DHCP address (it does at the moment) so it can grab all of the necessary installation data off the net. Then, at some point _IN_ the install process, I'd

Linus "praise" for Xen
http://www.kerneltraffic.org/kernel-traffic/kt20031201_243.html --- Relevant section --- Nuno Silva mentioned: The good people at Cambridge made a (very nice) VMM that exploits ring0/1/3 to let one machine run various kernels independently (the kernels need to be ported to the xen arch). Xen itself executes in ring0 and the "guest" operating systems execute in ring1.

The repodata directory is currently broken on several, if not all, mirrors for the 6.5 iso files
The repodata directory on all 6.5 isos that I have sampled have an issue where the file names don't have extensions resulting in a yum repo error on installation just after disk partitioning. This error prompts you with the choice between either allowing you choose another repo or to exit the installer. I remedied this issue with the following: [root at testserv /root/test/centos]$ find

Trouble with volume permissions
I'm working on an integration that uses QCOW2 volumes with backing stores. I have qemu configured to run as the "qemu" user, which seems to be fine. I now need to make sure my volumes are readable by this user. However, it seems the volume being created is owned by root, instead of "qemu" as I'd expect it to be. I tried various things and was unable to get it to create

I have a VPN connection using the openconnect vpn, and it is managed by network manager. Works fine. It has been on my system since the original Centos 7.x release. Now that I have Centos 7.3, while it still works fine, I find that I can no longer add a new connection using openconnect.
