Anyone know of complete hardware solution based IDE Raid Controllers?
Years ago Accusys made an IDE raid controller that presented itself as one drive to the BIOS, making the unit completely OS agnostic. Anything like that out there, anymore? Cheers, Brett.

Fibre Channel SAN + HBA + Xen = how ?
Hello, I have been looking around all day and lot''s of things are being thrown at me such as npiv and vscsi and such. I have an HITACHI,DF600F SAN which goes via two switch fabrics and plugs in to the dual port Qlogic HBA on the server(s). I have 4 Dell 2950''s at current which are under-utilised. I want to buy new 2xR710 and consolidate these 4 servers to a single physical

Virtualization of Fibre Channel?
In principle, will Xen handle virtualization of Fibre Channel HBA''s? Say I have a physical server with a single FC HBA installed. If I create two domains, will XEN virtualize the HBA so that both of the domains can talk to the FC fabric? -M. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

RAID storage - SATA, SCSI, or Fibre Channel?
I have a Dell PowerEdge 2950 and am looking to add more storage. I know a lot of factors can go into the type of answer given, but for present and future technology planning, should I look for a rack of SATA, SCSI, or fibre channel drives? Maybe I'm dating myself with fibre channel, and possibly SCSI? I may be looking to add a few TB now, and possibly more later. What are people

how xen recognizes fibre channel based storage resources
Hello I''m a newbie here so please don''t laugh at me... I plan to setup several (4) physical servers to run xen virtualized OS-es (in example web servers). What I need is that those virtualized OS-es must have simultaneous access to disk storage physically created on FC array. I read that this could be done by OCFS or Lustre file system but my question is: how virtualized

HBA port
Hi, I have a host which is connected to SAN via single Fibre channel HBA (qlogic). I have several LUNS assigned to this (sdc, sdd). I added another single port HBA to this host. I can now see two world wide names. Now the confusion is which world wide name does sdc and sdd is/was using. scsi_id -g -u -s /block/sdc only gives wwid but I need the wwn for sdc and sdd. Thanks Paras.

PE-2850 to AX100 via Qlogic Card (QLA200 HBA) on CentOS 4.1
Hi list, I have the choice to use RHEL4 or Centos4.x on a Dell PowerEdge2850 who is linked to an AX100 storage system. My question is: does the QLA200 (the pci fiber channel card) driver will work on CentOS 4.1 . For now the card is listed like this on CentOS 4.1: --- #lspci 09:04.0 Fibre Channel: QLogic Corp.: Unknown device 6312 (rev 03) --- What kind of modification must/can I do to the

FC-HBA assigned to guest domain does not work.
I assigned FC-HBA to guest domain, but it did not work. FC-HBA seems to write its internal memory which is mapped to host memory space via pci transaction. But there is no mapping in IOMMU''s page table, so that page fault occurs in IOMMU. I think that MMIO resource mapped via p2m table should be mapped via IOMMU''s page table too. In other word, XEN_DOMCTL_memory_mapping

How can I get the HBA and disk devices info out-of-band?
Hi, We know that the Command Line Interfaces (CLIs) for configuring and managing Emulex and QLogic Fibre Channel HBAs are included in the XenServer Host. Now suppose I want to configure and manage these HBAs out-of-band, say from some other virtualized or non-virtualized host. Is it possible ? If yes, then how? Thanks and regards Ashit _______________________________________________ Xen-users

How to use http-put for JavaScript source client
Following up on this topic ( sorry if this starts a new thread but I just joined the ml ), I do no understand why it is not possible to use the audio stream from webRTC's getUserMedia and then send it over a websocket ? It seems that the webRTC implementation can natively encode in ogg format in stereo from any interface ( according to

Experiencing continual eth0 link up/down on a 10G Chelsio NIC (cxgb3 driver)
File Server OS: CentOS 5.3 (x86_64) Kernel: CentOS Plus kernel (need XFS fs drivers) The file server has a Chelsio T310 10GBASE-CX4 RNIC (rev 3) PCI Express x8 MSI-X (eth0), driver and firmware is stock from the CentOS Plus kernel. Using ethtool I have verified driver association with the 3 NICs on the system (eth1 and eth2 are not connected to any switch) Driver for eth0 driver: cxgb3

Cannot boot
You have to boot from a live boot disk, chroot into your old system's filesystem, mount all partitions properly and then download and rebuild the kernel and grub config. You can try just "yum install kernel" aswell, but I'm not sure whether it'd work. Best regards, -- Sander Kuusemets On 11/20/2015 03:25 PM, Siva Prasad Nath wrote: > I can boot from DVD. I deleted

CentOS 6 - logwatch report not in HTML format
You should have provided more info initially. "goes out in text format" might mean several things. Display IP addresses on the system console *before* the login prompt.
What does 'man agetty' (or whatever you're using) on the OS in question say? Ubuntu 14.04 doesn't list "\4{<nic>}" as an option and it doesn't work, 16.04 does and it does appear there (might have to press Enter to get a screen refresh). If the OS doesn't support it then you'll have to get creative (send 'ip addr' output to /etc/issue at boot

CentOS 7 as a Fibre Channel SAN Target
For quite some time I?ve been using FreeNAS to provide services as a NAS over ethernet and SAN over Fibre Channel to CentOS 7 servers each using their own export, not sharing the same one. It?s time for me to replace my hardware and I have a new R720XD that I?d like to use in the same capacity but configure CentOS 7 as a Fibre Channel target rather than use FreeNAS any further. I?m doing
