Comet support?
Just out of curiosity, is there a plan to support Comet (name coined by the dojo guys) w/ prototype? Comet represents persisting an http connection for low latency data operations. It also represents a nice alternative to polling. Jim _______________________________________________ Rails-spinoffs mailing list Rails-spinoffs-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org

Dynamically printing a page
Does anyone know of a cross browser solution to print a page/url after a user clicks a button? Currently, I''m using a "hidden" iframe to do my bidding. But from my experience, IE requires that the iframe''s src attribute be set initially to the url, in order for the page to open properly. I wasn''t able to add the iframe to the page dynamically, either. So

Ajax Tabbed Browsing
I was wondering if anyone has done this, namely make tabbed browsing exactly like a web browser, but have it within the page. I would like to make a search function that updates a section of the page with the results, as well as makes a new tab that displays those search results. Then, if a user did 5 searches, there would be 5 tabs. Each tab would hide the other 4 results and show the

Proposal of "Resizable" javascript library
Hi, All. I''ve developed the small javascript library to make the widgets "resizable". Please try attached file or following URL URL: http://221.112.61.214/~kzk/others/mixi/resizer.html Now I wish script.aculo.us developers to merge this into the "script.aculo.us". Is there any chance of merge? Is this a right place to ask this question? Thanks in advance. Kazuki

back button support
Hello, I was just wondering what clever ways all the Ajax developers out there have come up with to add back button support to their web apps. I have seen a couple different ways on the net, but neither of them look very complete. Ideally, I would like a solution where I could modify Ajax.Updater to keep track of which pages where loaded into which elements, then create a function like

Hey How did they do that?
I''ve seen web apps where cells within a table column can be highlighted by dragging over them. NumSum does this. Any ideas on how this is achieved? When I try to select cells in a column by dragging over them the text within rows gets selected as well. Anybody building elearning apps with Rails
Hello I''m new to rails (just boarded the Train a week ago). I''ve been an elearning developer for about 10 years and for the last couple of years have solely concentrated on adding tools to a proprietary Learning Management System built in Coldfusion. ...But I''m also a Java and ASP.NET developer.
