Kernel crash with acpi_processor, cpu_idle and intel_idle =y
Hi everyone, When I set CONFIG_ACPI_PROCESSOR, CONFIG_CPU_IDLE and CONFIG_INTEL_IDLE to y then I cannot boot Xen; there is a crash. If I turn CONFIG_INTEL_IDLE off then the boot goes well and, after dom0 has booted, xenpm works and gives some sane output, see below. I have tested this with kernels 3.2 to 3.4.6. Is it impossible to use INTEL_IDLE with Xen? If this is a known issue then maybe

Stability issues since moving to 4.6 - Kernel paging request bug + VM left in null state
Since moving from 4.4 to 4.6, I've been seeing an increasing number of stability issues on our hypervisors. I'm not clear if there's a singular root cause here, or if I'm dealing with multiple bugs. One of the more common ones I've seen, is a VM on shutdown will remain in the null state and a kernel bug is thrown: xen001 log # xl list Name

Looks like I can reproduce this pretty easily, this happened upon ssh'ing into the server while I had a VM migrating into it. The system goes completely unresponsive (can't even

Help: Using Pre-created tap interfaces with Libvirt+Xen
Hi All., I am not sure if this is possible in xen via Libvirt, but what I am trying to do is, I want libvirt to launch a VM and attach a pre-created tap interface to that VM ( I do not want XEN to create one, as I am running a lot of custom scripts on my tap interface). I also dont want xen to attach this tap interface to a bridge. For example, lets say I have created a tap interface

xen 4.5-unstable, oxenstored cannot start (centos 7, kernel 3.17.0)
Hello. I'm running CentOS 7 with mainline kernel 3.17 built by myself. I've configured the kernel with all the xen parameters as builtin instead of modules. Yesterday I've decided to try to build and install Xen from sources. I've pulled the latest sources from git, changed the branch to staging and built and installed xen like this: make xen make tools make stubdom sudo make

I've been running 3.18.25-18.el6.x86_64 + our build of xen 4.4.3-9 on one host for the last couple of weeks and have gotten several soft lockups within the last 24 hours. I am posting here first in case anyone else has experienced the same issue. Here is the first instance: sched: RT throttling activated NMI watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 22s! no-amd-iommu-perdev-intremap + no-intremap = BOOM with Xen 4.4 (no-intremap by itself OK).
Hey I wanted to try my hand at doing some GPU passthrough so on my ASUS M5A97 which in the pass worked with an older BIOS (but said BIOS had issues after S3 suspend) - but with a BIOS the PCI passthrough does not work. That is due to:: (XEN) IVHD Error: Invalid IO-APIC 0xff (XEN) AMD-Vi: Error initialization

High CPU temp, suspend problem - xen 4.1.5-pre, linux 3.7.x
Hi, I''ve still have problems with ACPI(?) on Xen. After some system startup or resume CPU temperature goes high although all domUs (and dom0) are idle. On "good" system startup it is about 50-55C, on "bad" - above 67C (most time above 70C). I''ve noticed difference in C-states repored by Xen (attached files). On "bad" startups in addition suspend
