insert HTML <select> value into a textarea - Works in IE6, not in FireFox or Opera
I have a simple form at http://mstramba.com/fb5.html It''s just a <select> and a textarea. The idea is to be able to either type into a text area directly or choose from a list of saved words in the select box. When a new choice is made from the select, it automatically gets inserted into the text area. This code DOES work in I.E6 (on my machine (XP pro), but doesn''t

Odd things happening in ie6/ie7
As always, i am again having problems in IE6 and IE7 with scripts. The scripting works fine in FF2, opera and Safari. IE just wont load it. Could anyone help? It''s a static page for now, located at www.maifith.com/research/index.html The problem, although quite obvious, is that it doesn''t load the JS in IE6 or IE7. Any help would be appreciated.

Autocompleters and Sortables do not function in IE6
I have two issues that I hope someone else has encountered and has a solution for. First: I have several autocompleters on my site, and they function as expected in Firefox, Opera, IE7, but when I use them in IE6, I get no javascript errors for my local autocompleters, and all ajax autocompleters functions are firing as expected and returning the correct search results. The only problem, IE6

Create Slide Shows (PowerPoint/KeyNote-Style) Using Markdown using the Slide Show (S9) Ruby Gem
Hello, I've published a Ruby gem that lets you create slide shows and author slides in plain text using a wiki-style markup language that's easy-to-write and easy-to-read. Yes, that's Markdown. (Textile is supported too ;-) You can find two samples online in Markdown: o http://slideshow.rubyforge.org/svn/samples/rest.text o

Effect.Slide(Down|Up) with iframe display error in Firefox
See http://208.78.99.133/slide-firefox-bug.html In summary, when attempting to use Slide(Down|Up) with an iframe, Firefox displays the animation incorrectly by showing the part of the iframe that should hidden when the animation is going. This works fine in IE and Opera. Suggestions? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to

Yes, it will not work on EL6, it requires newer glibc and gtk3. It's time to leave EL6 behind (or stick to Firefox). -- Sent from the Delta quadrant using Borg technology! Opera 7
Hi guys, I was just surprised to see that the Opera 7 Installer (without Java) runs perfectly and installs Op7. After that I was even more surprised to see that also Opera itself starts without any modifications needed as wine opera.exe. But surfing a little around I found some problems, for which perhaps anyone here has a solution? - sadly it crashes every now and then. I suspect something

Opera proposed Theora for native video playback in browsers
Hi , I see this news in Opera website : http://my.opera.com/haavard/blog/2007/03/05/1 I think this is a good news for Theora Team and also a greater news if video tag becomes true. This extract of the website is incredible : 'One thing to keep in mind that adding native support for Theora in Opera would only add about 300K to Opera's overall size! And I am sure that could even be

Weird flicker effect in IE6 (sortables)
Hello everyone I have made some strange expirience yesterday. I have an unordered list with sortable list items (basic). Within these are various contents (forms, divs, more lists) etc.. Now on only some of them the whole page (all text) begins to flicker / redrawn in Internet Explorer 6 if i pick up a dragable and move it above its original position (like moving it above the ghost of the

opera 9
Doing a little testing on Opera 9 and everything seems to work great so far. Opacity on Opera, how about that? I may switch away from Firefox now; Opera seems to run a lot faster (just based on eyeball guessing). Anyone else tried it out? It was released for real today, no more beta. autocomplete update element positioning in Opera
I''m trying the auto-complete on Opera 8.5. I know it is not officially supported but it mostly works. Just one little problem: Opera seems to have some issue with .scrollTop on a input control. I expect it to report 0 but it report its current coordinate. So the update window goes to a wrong location. This is a block of code in Position.page page: function(forElement) { ...

Saving files with Opera to a Samba share, printing
Hello! Whenenver I try to save a downloaded file with Opera [6.x] to a Samba share [2.2.x], Opera (and also the windows-explorer) freezes. Having set log-level to 1, I get the following message after a while. Sometimes, but not always, Opera continues working after 30seconds or so. I have the same behaviour in Samba 2.2.2, 2.2.3a and 2.2.4-pre. My Server is running SuSE 7.3 with the 2.4.16
