Option transport.socket.bind-address fixes
Hello,
glusterd has option transport.socket.bind-address that enables binding
gluster to an exact IP address. This feature is necessary for HA cluster
deployment. In the initial setup everything seemed fine, but after a
little bit of testing I found several issues.
Here are the issues I found:
- NFS and selfheal daemons are started by glusterd but with volserver

Possible to bind to multiple addresses?
I am trying to run GlusterFS on only my internal interfaces. I have
setup two bricks and have a replicated volume that is started.
Everything works fine when I run with no transport.socket.bind-address
defined in the /etc/glusterfs/glusterd.vol file, but when I add it I get:
Transport endpoint is not connected
My configuration looks like this:

optimize function help!!
Dear R users,
I?m trying to optimize simultaneously two binomials inequalities used to
acceptance sampling, which are nonlinear solution, so there is no simple
direct solution.
The 'n' represents the sample size and the 'c' an acceptance number or
maximum number of defects (nonconforming) in sample size.
The objective is to obtain the smallest value of 'n' (sample size)

'gmm' package: How to pass controls to a numerical solver used in the gmm() function?
Hello --
The question I have is about the gmm() function from the 'gmm' package
(v. 1.4-5).
The manual accompanying the package says that the gmm() function is
programmed to use either of four numerical solvers -- optim, optimize,
constrOptim, or nlminb -- for the minimization of the GMM objective
function.
I wonder whether there is a way to pass controls to a solver used
while calling

winbind problem (?) on samba 3 ADS

I have installed samba 3.0.6 based on the "Official
HOWTO" to join out Active Directory environment, with
winbind and pam support. I have join the samba to the
domain using "net ads join -Umyloginame". I can do the
"wbinfo -g", "getent passwd" and "getent group"
correctly. I also can list shares on other machine,
using kerberos:

Samba 3.5 & CIFS mounts - long standing issue...
Hi.
I can see that this is a long long standing issue... Apparently things
changed in Windows 2008 R2, and after upgrade of domain from R1 to R2
cifs mounts don't work anymore between Linux servers. Windows can see
Samba shares and mount them, but CIFS on another Linux box cannot...
Here is a thread with explanation in lenght:

Samba 3.6 problems with idmap rid
Hi!
I am using mainly Samba 3.5 on CentOS, and I was very pleased with
idmap_rid backend for SID-to-RID mappings.
But on Solaris 10, I can only use 3.6 because OpenCSW ships only 3.6.
Problem is, things are changed and are not working as expected...
Here is my config on RHEL Samba 3.5:
[global]
workgroup = WINDOMAIN
realm = WINDOMAIN.LOCAL
server string = localserver

puppet-lint and 80 characters line limit?
Hi.
I''m getting lots of warning like this one from puppet-lint:

Now, I don''t like warnings, so any idea how should I rewrite this line
for example, to void the warning?

Joining domain without password?
Hi.
Is it possible somehow to join a Linux machine to a AD Domain without
providing any password on a CLI?
So far, I've been joining machines purely by:
# net ads joint -U Administrator%password
But now, I'm trying to automatize the process through puppet, but don't
know if it's possible somehow to join domain without using administrator
(or any other) password?

Hiera, OSSEC and per-node stuff?
Hi.
I have an interesting use case.
OSSEC is security tool based on server-client architecture. Server
generates keys for agents, and every agent has different key.
Now I want to distribute these keys via puppet. I''ve come accross hiera
and installed it, and it works superbly, but how to store per-node key
in hiera?
This is my idea:
hiera,yaml:
