Crash in R using embedded.
Hi,
I'm new to R, and am trying to embed R into another application.
I'm calling gev.fit() from the ismev package, and it is crashing somewhere
inside it.
gdb is not catching it, and valgrind is not showing any memory corruption
issues.
I suspect it's memory corruption, because it doesn't crash in exactly the
same spot each time.
I'm running R 2.12.2 on a 64 bit linux (Ubuntu

Running R embedded in an mpiexec spawned process - Fatal error: you must specify '--save', '--no-save' or '--vanilla'
I'd like someone familiar with the R options initialization to comment on a difference of behavior within/without mpiexec
I have a (.NET) application with embedded R that is proven to run in a single process:
./Sample1.exe
on a Debian Linux with R 3.0.2
Running the same code with mpiexec, it fails at the R engine initialization:
mpiexec -n 1 ./Sample1.exe

R as shell script
Hi,
I am considering if I should invest in learning R. Based on the
language definition and introductory documents, it seems nice. But now
I am faced with a problem: I want to be able to run R programs easily
from the unix shell, and write scripts that can automatically select R
as the interpreter:
#!/usr/bin/R
cat("Hello world.\n")
This of course doesn't work, because /usr/bin/R

Running an expression 1MN times using embedded R
Hello,
I'm evaluating this expression

reproducible code that crashes with

A recent commit breaks embedded application on Windows
A line was added to call `R_SetParams ` in the function `R_SetWin32` 4 days ago.
https://github.com/wch/r-source/blob/2370eca96267e29a69396ef53a52ff5d6f60c65b/src/gnuwin32/system.c#L780
However, `R_SetParams` actually calls `R_SetWin32`.
https://github.com/wch/r-source/blob/30f7698e19fe1d2ce8fe53d85cd6cfad21fc8bb0/src/main/startup.c#L284
So it results in a stack overflow.

Callbacks seems to get GCed.
Dear list,
I am trying to implement a publish-subscribe mechanism in for an embedded
R interpreter. But somehow my registered closures seem to get collected by
the GC, even though I have protected them. I have reducted my code to the
following sample. Sorry if it is a little verbose.
The first couple of call of calls still work, but at some point one of the
callbacks (callback1 in my

Parallel R expression evaluations
Hi all,
I am using R-3.0.1 under Linux platform to embed R into my C++ code.
I am facing an error while executing more than 1 R-expressions parallelly.
I am executing round(X) and abs(X) parallelly on a set of 50 input rows
which resulted in segmentation fault after getting the following errors.

R.DLL mapping by P/Invoke
After a long processing, I was able to create a version of a small C# class
that was able to emulate the rproxy by P/Invoke. This is mostly to find a
workaround a performance problem of the StatConnector.
It's almost work but ... I have strange memory exception when I call the
print function. The variable seems to not survive from one call to the
other.

Pass Arguments to R with an LSF submit
I'm trying to run R in batch mode on an LSF managed cluster. In simple
settings, I can do it just fine. The trouble I'm having is when I try to
pass arguments to the batch job. For example,
bsub R CMD BATCH --args 1 3 commandfile.R &
LSF doesn't like the &, and it doesn't run. I'm hoping one you can help me
submit a job to an LSF cluster that allows me to pass

R_ParseVector problem: it's cutting off after the decimal point

called Bulk Analyzer developed by VrVis (http://www.vrvis.at).
the code:

PrintValue(tmp);
PROTECT(e = R_ParseVector(tmp, -1, &status, R_NilValue));
PrintValue(e);

Rf_initEmbeddedR in Windows
Hi All
My C++/linux program uses Rf_initEmbeddedR to start R and then calls some
R functions. Now I try to port it to Windows. Give the fact that
Rf_initEmbeddedR is missing in Windows, I try to use the implmentation in
Rserve by Simon Urbanek. When I build in MS Visual Studio, I get the

Problem with initializiing R main loop under Windows (R.dll-version: 2.15.1)
Dear R-developers,
even though I may not be the first one to encounter the problem
described below, I would really appreciate some help or a link to a
forum where this topic is being discussed. Probably I am simply
misinformed on the usage of structRstart but see for youselve.
I did check multiple forums and the whole internet on the topic without
success.

Using R.dll in .NET IPC
Hi - I wrapped R.dll up using somebody code online (see below). I am comparing R on .NET IPC with R(D)COM.
I got it all working. Except, I realize that in my client code of the IPC remoting, if I call 'plot' function in R via EvaluateNoReturn, I don't seem to see any results on the R plot window (although the window pops up). Is there anything to do with the code of R.dll wrapper

Question on the R's C stack limit
Dear r-devel members,
I encountered a C stack limit issue, when I tried to embed R 2.5 into my
application. In the R-exts document, it says:"Note that R's own front ends
use a stack size of 10Mb". I desire to know: is it possible to decrease this
stack size
by modifying R's source code? If it's possible, which part of the source
code is responsible for the issue?
Thank
