Is it safe to manipulate Maildir files directly?
Dovecoters, is it safe to manipulate files in Maildir/xxx directly or will Dovecot become unstable if I don't make these changes by talking to Dovecot and having it make the changes? (I'm running 2.1.7 under Wheezy, IMAP only) My specific application: I am running spamassassin and would like users to be able to submit spam (and ham) directly by moving it into special folders. [SERVERBUG] failed to send mail with SA and antispam plugin
Thanks to your help Steffen I was able to find out the issue which was simply the size of the Spam mail as you can see here: spamc[16545]: skipped message, greater than max message size (512000 bytes) The spam mail was around 900 kbytes as such I have changed the spamc limit to 1MB. Bastard spammer who abuses this limit by attaching a big image... Regards ML On Thursday, January 15, 2015

dovecot-antispam plugin problem with multiple messages
Hi With dovecot 2.2.5, and dovecot-antispam built from a recent HEAD pull, when copying multiple messages to or from a Spam folder, the plugin sends multiple copies of the first message to the backend. I've tried this with the pipe and spool2dir backends. For example with the spool2dir backend, via IMAP doing A COPY 1:3 Spam yields 3 copies of message id 1 in the dir: dev:imap-8.1 rplatel

[SERVERBUG] failed to send mail with SA and antispam plugin
Thank you for your helpful hints on debugging this issue. I wanted first to get the mail which generates this error but unfortunately the user already deleted it as well from his trash. Now I got another hint and it looks like this mail had a big attachment to it. Is it possible that spamc generated this error due to the size of the mail? Dovecot 2 LDAP "unknown user"
I finally managed to get this going but I have noticed in my case that: 1. I need to make sure the user logon name in AD and the samAccountname are exactly the same, case and all. It seems postfix uses the samAccountname and Dovecot the User logon name. 2. I also noticed that if the Display name for a user in AD is blank, that user cannot log in using telnet <server ip> 110. Mapping other Inbox method (symlink vs ACL)
Hi Steffan, How do I specify the entire mailbox? I only use ACL via telnet. I tried to use *(wildcard) to indicate entire mailbox but I guess that does not work. quota using wrong limits in user shared mailboxes
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I have setup a shared namespace to expose user's mailboxes to other users. That works well. Via ACLs users can access other users mailboxes. I have setup a quota for each user, that works well, too. The quota is tracked and new messages are denied, if the quota is exceeded. I do not find hints, if you need to setup something special for
