[PATCH server] Update app to work with rails 2.3.2
Note that this does not fix gettext for app, that will be done separately in another patch as F10/F11 require different setups for that. In the meantime gettext works if manually changed in environment.rb to gettext_rails instead of gettext/rails Signed-off-by: Jason Guiditta <jason.guiditt at gmail.com> --- src/app/controllers/application.rb | 200 --------

script.aculo.us V1.5_pre1 released
Heya, I''ve just released script.aculo.us V1.5_pre1. Please give it a try! Important new stuff (since V1.1b1): * Added a main scriptaculous.js file to load in the other libraries transparently. * Fixed a condition where standard a href=xxx links wouldn''t work in autocomplete results. These do now, the onclick event is not cancelled. [thx to Jasper Slits] * Added

Question abour Draggables & Droppables - my code example
hi i think my example is very simple and straightforward so i''m not sure if it meets your needs (change revert:true to revert:false from a draggable after I drop it on a droppable so it doesn''t return to its original place.) i did this # 2 divs created here <script language="javascript"> new Draggable(''drag'', {revert: false});

Draggables and Droppable performance (tips)
Hi all. I have some performance tips to share. I had been having problems with the overall performance of the drag/drop objects. This is due largely to the fact that my project really pushes the limits (potentially thousands of draggables and hundreds of droppables in the document at a time, although that is the extreme case). Something I discovered is that the performance of dragging goes WAY

Sortable onUpdate problem
Hi, I have two sortables with different options (but same tags. just ''li''). When I drag an item from sortable1 to sortable2 I want it to gain the options that the sortable2 items have. I''ve tried all day to understand how Draggables and their observers are destroyed but I keep gettting buggy behavior. Part of the problem is the draggable and the draggableObserver are

Ajax.Autompleter not working on IE
I have IE 6.0.2 on an old Win 98 machine (that sounds like a vacuum cleaner when running), but I''m developing with FireFox and on Mac and Linux where things seem to work fine. On IE my Ajax.Updater code and my scriptaculous effects are working fine, but my autocomplete fields are not. I assume I''m doing something wrong in setting up the field: I use this on my form: <input

Another draggable/droppable performance booster
This one is as much for Thomas as for the rest of the list (might be a good one for the official build)... I made a change to the dragdrop.js file that significantly improves overall performance of dragging when there are more than one (or many more) droppables on the page. I modified the Draggables.updateDrag method, and added another method below it, and then in Draggable.updateDrag I

Ajax.Autocompleter method and URIs
Hello, I''ve looked at a few autocompleters, and really like Script.aculo.us''. I have two suggestions for making it even better: 1) Make the default HTTP method GET, or at least clearly document how to change it (through the prototype options). This will make it possible for the browser as well as intermediaries to cache the results. 2) Make it easier to control the URIs that

Ajax.Autocompleter and onchange event
Hello, currently I''m working on a JavaScript-on-screen-keyboard for use with touch screens. To autocomplete inputs I want to use the Ajax.Autocompleter control. The problem is that Ajax.Autocompleter only responds to onkeypress events made with a real keyboard, but my on-screen-keyboard causes onchange events when a letter is clicked and appended to the input field. So, is there a way to

Ajax.Autocompleter is not a constructor
Hi Rails, I am having trouble setting up an autocomplete text field. Using rails 1.0.0 and just trying to copy the simple scriptaculous demo (http://demo.script.aculo.us/ajax/autocompleter) fails. My view and controller are set up the same way. In firefox 1.0.4 (and safari, don''t remember the version) I get the Ajax.Autocompleter error in the javascript console when loading the

Drag and Drop with scriptaculous
Hello, I''m making my first steps with prototype and scriptaculous. I''m playing around with drag and drop. What I try to do: I have some Draggables and some Droppables. You can drag each Draggables to each Droppables. When I drop a Draggables I want to center the Draggables inside the Droppable. And here I get my first problems:-( I use this code: Droppables.add(

Ajax.autocompleter does not narrow down choices
Hello, I was wondering how to get the Ajax.Autocompleter to behave more like Autocompleter.Local where it narrows the drop down as you type. The local autocompleter seems to exhibit this behavior naturally. Am I missing an argument somewhere? Joe _______________________________________________ Rails-spinoffs mailing list

Ajax.Autocompleter parameters
I''m trying to pass additional variables to my autocomplete data page. I used the parameters option but this only sends a static variable (i.e. I can''t do something like parameters:"param1="+$ (''checkbox1'').checked). I thought I could fix this by calling a new Ajax.Autocompleter every time the checkbox was clicked but that just created duplicate

declaring draggable object that holds it position
Hi i posted this question earlier on how to create a droppable div(New to Ajax), and i have just realised that my code does work, however the function doesn''t work the way I expected it to, I would like my draggable to remain where it was dropped, currently I have a draggable div and a droppable div. I would like to try create a puzzle type game which has a set amount of droppables and an

droppables
I am not sure how many of you are using draggables/droppables but I thought I would do some experimentation and try and learn how to use them on my own. Well, I have draggables, and I have droppables. I do have one question for now. The droppable onDrop event seems to pass in 2 objects, the dropped object, and the container the object was dropped on. My question is this, can I figure

Ajax.Autocompleter
I have been working with the Ajax.Autocompleter for about a day so forgive my ignorance. Is there any value in adding additional callbacks. I want perform an action when the user selects a choice. So I was thinking of adding an option {select: function(selectedElement) {}} similar to the callbacks on Ajax.Request in the prototype library. Call me out if you think I am crazy my feelings

Ajax.Autocompleter with paging
hi, i''d like to create an Ajax.Autocompleter with paging... my basic idea is to use the afterUpdateElement to check if the selected item has a attribute telling it to make a new ajax call... my problem is, that i have no clue how to trigger the getUpdatedChoices of my ajax.autocompleter from within the afterUpdateElement function, nor how to set an

Ajax.Autocompleter with an empty field
Hey guys, I have a field that will have very few autocomplete options. I have an ajax.autocompleter on it that works great, but I wanted to make it start autocompleting as soon as the field is blur()ed, so that even if the field is empty, the list will still appear. Like a combo box in windows. How can I do this? Setting :min_chars => 0 (or even -1) didn''t work... -Josh
