Make phone ring through webserver using Asterisk
What is the easiest way? And how can it be implemented?
I thought to something like:
1. I request a page to the webserver
2. Perl sends to asterisk a number to dial (Perl and asterisk are
running in the same machine)
3. Asterisk calls the phone
or
1. A Perl sip client registers to remote asterisk server
2. Perl sip client sends to asterisk the number to dial
3. Phone rings

Not seeing any more LocalDiscovery broadcasts
Hi,
I am playing with LocalDiscovery again and have noticed that I do not
see any LocalDiscovery broadcasts anymore.
I am using tinc 1.1-pre9 in switch mode and have set LocalDiscovery =
yes in tinc.conf. I do not see any broadcasts on any network and I also
do not see anything in the debug output.
What to do?

LocalDiscovery detecting nodes through tunnel
Hi,
I have tried the LocalDiscovery feature of tinc.
The problem is that it also sends broadcast probes out the CPN interface
*and* detects nodes on the VPN. A connection is then established through
the tunnel, which effectively breaks connectivity between the two nodes.
I do not think that discovering hosts on the VPN makes sense in any way.
How can it be disabled?
I could easily netfilter

CAPI Installation Eicon Diva Server
Hi
I've got a dell 2550 with an Eicon Diva server PRI card plugged into it.
I can call out using the acopy2 test utility.
I'm having trouble with asterisk making calls however... my capi.conf
and modules.conf looks correct by the wiki instructions - does anyone
have any advice on where to look ? I can attach conf files etc. if
needed.
Asterisk says it has 30 capi channels available,

Sharing function between helper and controller
Hi,
I have a utility function repeated in both my helper and my
controller. Not DRY. I have this repetition because other functions
in the helper and in the controller both use the utility function.
Where do I put this function so that both the helper and controller
can access the function? Mayber there is a different solution?
Thanks,
Peter

Extracting matched expressions
Hi all,
Is there a tool in base R to extract matched expressions from a
regular expression? i.e. given the regular expression "(.*?) (.*?)
([ehtr]{5})" is there a way to extract the character vector c("one",
"two", "three") from the string "one two three" ?
Thanks,
Hadley

Two Questions
I apologize if this is a duplicate - my mail program defaulted to a
different email account from the one I registered with this list. I
haven't seen a "bounce" message (that it was rejected by the list
because the address isn't subscribed), but the message hasn't appeared
in my mailbox , either, so I'm resending from the correct subscribed
address.
As a newbie to Wine, I

[LLVMdev] bitcast i32 ... to i32 "magically fixes" value?
Here's a piece of code that behaves in a way that appears insane to
me; I'm hoping that someone can either explain to me why this is the
right behavior, or label it a bug.

emails are being marked as read auto-magically
Hi,
I'm having a weird issue with dovecot 2.1.7 (using the latest thunderbird
client). Something, I have emails that mark themselves as read on their
own. No one touches them, and they get marked as read. I try to re-mark
them as unread, but a few seconds later, they get marked as read again. The
same problem happens in reverse (emails marks as unread become read).
Has anyone ever

here's my IAX callthrough app and some questions about problems I have.
Hello all,
What my app does is accepts a call in on a Dial-In Number (DID) via
IAX, and then prompts the caller for the top secret password (123) and
then authenticates the user and prompts them to dial in the number
they'd like to call. Once they press pound after dialing in the number
it will read it back to them, if they press pound it will attempt to
connect via the second IAX provider,

CentOS 7 magically rebooted!
CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 (Core)
Hi,
Last night our CentOS 7 server rebooted. Seemingly it's a very clean reboot. I can't find a shred of
evidence as to why it happened though.
Things I've checked:
* sa reports
* /var/log/{messages,secure,dmesg,cron}
* /var/log/audit/audit.log
* lastlog
The host is used for KVM virtualisation and connects via multipathing to our OmniOS SAN via

Help in E1-T1 encoding
I have an asterisk with a TE110P configured as T1 which is behind a PSTN
gateway. This gateway has an E1 to PSTN and a T1 to asterisk. This T1 is
configured as Network and * as CPE.
Every call I receive in E1 gateway is directly switched to asterisk using
T1. Remember E1 is alaw. Both E1 and T1 have Natural Microsystems boards
with a very simple software.
When I call to E1 asterisk signalling

A Proposal To Magically Remove ''params''
I have a magical proposal for the anti-magic web framework.
Controller methods do not use arguments and yet expect arguments. This
is handled through this params hash because we don''t know in advance
what parameters a client could pass to Merb. But in almost every
instance, it is too much to know all the query parameters - one
doesn''t care if the user threw in an extraneous

VoIPGMap: Graphing active Asterisk calls on Google Maps
Hi list,
I've always wanted to graph my active SIP calls on a map somehow, and
now I've finally taken the time to do it. My script is called VoIPGMap
and it displays active calls on Google Maps. Logic-wise it's designed
for a callthrough or calling card scenario, where calls will be
displayed to originate from a single location, but you can surely adjust
it to instead show caller

Magically disappearing errors during FSMO transfer
Recently tried transferring roles from Samba 4.3.11 to Samba 4.7.0. Ultimately,
both dcs agreed that the 4.7.0 dc (dc3) had all the roles and replication and
the databases were in good shape. However, during the process, I got a lot of
errors that seemed to magically disappear.
Should I be worried?

DomU to DomU throughput issue
Hi
Is there anyone who has successfully resolved the low throughput problem in Guest communication.
I am using Xen3.4.1 with PV os kernel 2.6.30-rc6-tip On fedora11. While running netperf benchmark on guests throughput results are very low
DomU to DomU 0.29 Mbps
Why is it so? What would be the problem. Is there any issue with fc11 platform?
