Monitor asterisk
Hey guys,
I have my asterisk box running without a gui. I now need to monitor usage,
calls, traffic of voice calls on this asterisk server. I cannot now install
a gui because the configs will be wiped out, how can i go about monitoring
all the above?

I wouldn't fiddle with the fader as some cards use the same setting for
playback and record level. But you should be able to mute it just fine by
checking the mute checkbox for the line in.

New Rails Site: Wordie
My latest stupid web trick, built, with love, in Rails:
http://wordie.org
Make lists of words. See who else likes the same words. Basically, it''s
a dating site. Built on thanksgiving while half-watching football and
launched yesterday. In other words, half-baked, but I thought some of
you might find it mildly amusing.

While useful, I don't imagine that was Mark's point. CentOS links to a
very out of date website. So either the

Likelihood returning inf values to optim(L-BFGS-B) other options?
Dear R-help list,
I am working on an optimization with R by evaluating a likelihood
function that contains lots of Gamma calculations (BGNBD: Hardie Fader
Lee 2005 Management Science). Since I am forced to implement lower
bounds for the four parameters included in the model, I chose the
optim() function mith L-BFGS-B as method. But the likelihood often
returns inf-values which L-BFGS-B

You seem to forget. Computers were invented to perform repetitive tasks.
Computer usage should be serving mankind - not making it more difficult
for mankind.

Semi-newbie question "Softswitch" and Asterisk - Is there a difference?
I've been working in the VoIP industry for just a bit over a year now...

levelplot and source() problems
I have been using levelplot but have had trouble calling it inside
functions - something seems to go wrong when it's not called directly from
the R command prompt. Simplest reproducible example:
$ R --vanilla

> levelplot(matrix(1:4,2,2))
- This gives a nice plot in soothing pastel colors.
Now, with a file lptest.r containing 2 lines:

Centos machine sometimes unreachable
I have a simple perl script that every few hours pings the handful of

Samba & Sage Line 50 Accounting
Hi all,
Having a very specific problem here:
I have a working RedHat9 server running Samba 2.2.7 (the release that comes
with RH9), acting as a PDC/File Server to around 15 WinXP Pro client
workstations.
This all works nicely, apart from our accounting package, Sage Line 50,
which depends on its data being stored on a network share.
Previously, when the data was stored on a WinNT4 share,

More words for Allison
Here's the latest batch of words to get shipped out to Allison Smith.
Please submit reasonably small changes to me by tomorrow 10:00 AM

Documentation link on new Firefox CentOS 7 splash screen
Hey All,
I just installed the newest version of Firefox that was pushed to
production today. When I started Firefox the CentOS 7 Is Here splash

tab at the top of the screen and got this:

How to do package cleanup: hooks .onUnload, R_unload_mylib, .onDetach are not called on quit
Hi,
it seems that the package hooks .onLoad and its C++ pendant
R_unload_mylib are actually not called when R quits, but only when
explicitly calling detach('package:mylib', unload = TRUE).
Maybe this is platform specific, I'm on Ubuntu 13.10 - R 3.0.2 (see below).
* is there a mechanism that a package can use to effectively do some
cleanup on standard exit, such as calling

Hi,
Is it possible to integrate SNORT with IPFW. I have an entire network behind
an IPFW BRIDGE. Just need IDS capability enabled for the network. Just an
hint is enough. Any other way I can achieve this in IPFW.

CGIwithR and visible output of 'invisible(capture.output(library(...)))'
Dear alltogether,
I want to use CGIwithR in conjunction with R2HTML.
A small example called 'test.R':
#####
#! /usr/bin/R
invisible(capture.output(library(R2HTML)))
HTML(summary(as.numeric(scanText(formData$numbers))), file=stdout())
#####
The script gets its input via 'CGIwithR.cgi' and contains the variable
"numbers."
The 'HTML' output (-> summary() in
