sshd 5.6p1 does not accept connections in fips mode
Hi, I was trying to run sshd after applying the fips patches mentioned in http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/engine?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=1835;list=openssh but for some reason sshd refuses to accept the connection. I guess I do something terribly wrong. Is there a reason that this is bound to fail? These 5.6 patches were the most recent I could find. Are there any fips patches

Fwd: cgroup OOM killer loop causes system to lockup (possible fix included)
Hi all, Please find below a complete transcript of the emails between debian/kernel-mm mailing lists. I've had a response back from someone on the deb mailing list stating: ==================================== The bug seems to be that sshd does not reset the OOM adjustment before running the login shell (or other program). Therefore, please report a bug against openssh-server.

sshd unhandled SIGALRM (resend)
sshd will die from an unhandled SIGALRM if you allow SSH1 connections, ssh in, HUP sshd, and don't ssh in again for KeyRegenerationInterval. The HUP handler calls exec which resets signal handlers but persists alarm timers. Chapter and verse:

SIGHUP fails to restart (3.6.1p2 -> 3.7p1)
I have the sshd daemon located at /sbin/ssh_22 in this scenario (because I have more than one daemon with separate executable images). After upgrading from 3.6.1p2 to 3.7p1, with the /sbin/ssh_22 copy replaced by mv (not by writing over the existing image), I do SIGHUP and get this message logged: Sep 16 15:07:36 vega sshd_22[22552]: Received SIGHUP; restarting. Is ''publish'' proxy arp still broken ?
Can''t get proxy arp with arp -s <IPaddr> <MACaddr> pub to work with a 2.4 kernel. I see some evidence in the archive that this was broken in the 2.0.x timeframe and never fixed. Anyone know for sure if it''s broken or working ? (I''m attempting to route a few addresses into a routed network, from the ethernet side of a DSL router that has a /29 public

Logon script
Hey everybody; I've got a problem with a Windows 98 machine on my network. I use Samba as a storage server with a folder for every user. To create network drives I use a script that will be copied to the client and then executed whenever a machine logs on to the domain. So far everything works fine. The script is being executed on logon. However, the network drive can never be found

There is nothing in /var/log/secure. Also a diff between the config.h 's without and with --with-ssh1 is attached. I have a centos-6.7 under

Firewalling certain IP ranges
Hi, I have a linux router which is connected to a local network and the internet (eth0 and eth1). My local network (eth0) consists of two IP ranges, which are assigned by a DHCP server on my router - 10.0.0.2-10.0.0.19 for trusted clients (MAC addresses are known) and 10.0.0.20-10.0.0.254 for untrusted clients (MAC addresses are not known). These two ranges share the same physical network,

Kernel 2.6.32-573.22.1.el6.x86_64, higher than usual load
I did a batch update on a number of Xen vservers, with kernel 2.6.32-573.26.1 being installed. In addition to load averages being high and these #s not being reflected by the individual CPU numbers within top, I now have a spattering of occasional daemon crashes that the vservers have historically never had. Such as, here is the start of a nameserver blowing up in my logs: May 12 04:03:41 XXX

Suggestion for "known issues and debugging" additional content
Hello, ?? First, I have to compliment the crew on the documentation.? It's solid. ?? Running on Ubuntu 12.04.3, I was using rsync to synchronize a 5T filesystem across two servers.? The default Ubuntu configuration is to run rsync over ssh, conveniently the way I prefer it. ?? Initially, it would run for hours and copy 4T or so data.? Then as it began to progress further, perhaps using
