Hi,
Just thought I'd mention that I spent a while battling with tinc today.
I had quite a weird behaviour - in routing mode, tinc would come up fine
on both hosts, but pinging hosta from hostb wouldn't work until hosta
pinged hostb.
I've used an earlier version of tinc before in a different environment
with no problems, and vaguely remembered a more complicated tinc-up
script, so I

I am using sftp which comes with OpenSSH_3.8.1p1 Debian-8.sarge.4,
OpenSSL 0.9.7e 25 Oct 2004
I noticed backspace is not working. Couild someone tell me if this is
fixed in a newer package please?
Also, would it be possible for sftp --version to be implemented? also
sftp --V. Likewise ssh --version is not implemented either. None of
the flags are listed when i type ssh --help, or sftp --help

patch to fix non-echo tty on scp SIGINT
A long-time missing feature (or bug, depending on how you look at it) is
that a Ctrl-C at the password prompt in scp does not restore the
terminal settings, thus dropping you to the command prompt without any
keyboard echo. (A "reset" command will fix it.) This is a pretty
regular occurance for me, and some others I've talked to - usually when
you realize that the scp command you

OpenSSH-5.3p1 selinux problem on CentOS-5.4.
Note: I am digest subscriber so if you could copy me directly on any
reply to the list I would appreciate it very much.
I sent this to the OpenSSH list (secureshell at securityfocus.com)
yesterday and received no response so I am asking here in hopes that
someone else has run across this problem on CentOS.
We have encountered a situation that requires sftp access to one of

(4.1p1) Building failure with libedit on FreeBSD 4.x-RELEASE
Hi,
I've noticed that building 4.1p1 fails on FreeBSD 4.x if the
libedit support is enabled by the "--with-libedit" configure
option.
I tried to build OpenSSH-4.1p1 under the following environment:
CPU: i386 family
OS: FreeBSD 4.11-RELEASE
Compiler: gcc-2.95.4 (/usr/bin/gcc)

rsyslog for chrooted sftp users has stopped working -- Centos 6.6
Hello everyone,
We have some chrooted sftp-only users on a CentOS release 6.6 server. The
server had been logging their actions, but after recent updates the logs
have stopped.
The server correctly logs non-chrooted users:

scp
Hello -
I am trying to use scp (openssh_3.0), but every time I run it, I get the following error:
stty: Not a typewriter
When I run it with -v , it shows that authentication (pub key) succeeds, but it fails to read the file. If anybody has a clue as to what's going on here, any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

sftp-int.c:33: readline/history.h: No such file or directory

sftp enhancements
Hello all,
Just tested sftp for the first time. Looks neat, thanks for the work :-)
However, there's still some stuff to be done before ftp can be thrown into
the garbage bin and never taken out again, for example:
- file name globbing with e.g. 'get'
- tab completion with get etc.
- ability to pass parameters to 'ls', e.g. 'ls -t' (I'm not sure if the

OpenSSH 4.7: call for testing.
Hi All.
OpenSSH 4.7 is preparing for release so we are asking for any interested
folks to please test a snapshot. The main changes are:
* sshd(8) in new installations defaults to SSH Protocol 2 only.
Existing installations are unchanged.
* The SSH channel window size has been increased, which improves
performance on high-BDP networks.
* ssh(1) and sshd(8) now preserve MAC

cooked mode sessions
Picking up on a couple really old threads (e.g.
http://osdir.com/ml/ietf.secsh/2001-09/msg00003.html ) I've finally gotten
around to this. The EXTPROC support on Linux is missing, but you can find
kernel patches for that here
http://lkml.org/lkml/2010/6/11/403
I've also fixed up the netkit telnet / telnetd code to work with EXTPROC /
LINEMODE on Linux, those patches are here

OpenStep (NeXT) and TTY modes
OpenStep, apparently, does not initialize new pty/tty modes to a sane
default.
I'm thinking this code snippet, added to tty_parse_modes() before the
for(;;) loop should suffice:
#ifdef HAVE_NEXT
tio.c_oflag |= ONLCR;
tio.c_lflag |= ECHO;
#endif /* HAVE_NEXT */
Also, I've noticed that "ssh -t next_host stty" gives different output
than an interactive session to the same
