OT: adding a wifi adapter to openvswitch
Actually I do a similar thing. I use a VM as my home/office firewall. It works quite well and I would argue it is as secure as your standard firewall based on something like openWRT running on dedicated hardware. I also run a wireless AP in bridged mode to allow local network access on an appliance. There should be no reason that you could not put both on the same physical hardware. As for

OpenFlow/OVS related question
Hi, I''m using XCP1.5beta, I´m trying to control the fake bridge created by "xe vlan-create" using NOX controller, is it possible? I tried ovs-vsctl set-controller <fake-bridge> but it claims the bridge is fake. I use NOX to control the parent bridge with set-fail-mode secure, so when I shoutdown the controller no more ping is possible,However it is possible to ping

Using network-script with Xen 4.4.1 (aka what will I do without xend?)
I normally use the network-script parameter in the '/etc/xen/xend-config.sxp' configuration file to configure network bridges. However, the latest release of Xen4CentOS (which comes with Xen 4.4.1) has xend disabled by default. Can I continue to use network-script without xend? If not what is the recommended method for automatically configuring network bridges with the latest release of

If your laptop/server/smth is permanently wired to the internet, there's no problem to bridge this interface to the VM. But the topic starter wants to connect to the cable or wifi and still have a firewall VM. WiFi client connection with WPA(2) PSK encryption

OT: adding a wifi adapter to openvswitch
I know people used Parprouted to help with bridging wired with wireless. Have a look at it. -- Sent from the Delta quadrant using Borg technology! XCP bandwidth management
Hi all, I''ve got XCP 1.0 up and running nicely and would like to use it in production. However I''m struggling with the concept of bandwidth management. It seems like such a common problem that everyone must have, but I can''t find any clear direction in which to go. The dedicated host I am using (Hetzner) gives me a 5TB monthly bandwidth quota which needs to be shared
