R-Forge SVN commit hook to email appears to be broken
It would appear that commits no longer trigger emails; for Rcpp at least we are two commits (made earlier today) ahead of what was emailed. Maybe the mail agent needs to be restarted? Many thanks for taking care of r-forge. It is appreciated. Dirk -- Dirk Eddelbuettel | edd at debian.org | http://dirk.eddelbuettel.com

How to make an R package that uses Boost.Thread, qualified to be published on CRAN or shared by the most
Hi, Recently, I made an R package that used the C++ library Boost.Thread (http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_54_0/doc/html/thread.html) for multithreading. Previously, I have posted a question at stackoverflow (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/19651954/is-it-possible-to-build-an-r-package-which-use-rcpp-and-boost-thread-on-http), and I also asked at rcpp-devel

Error using Rcpp under windows xp
Hi, I am a newbie to Rcpp packages, and got problems in having basic set-ups for Rcpp under windows xp. Here is the list I have done. 1) installed Rtools and have no problem in compiling .c file. 2) installed Rcpp packages 3) set enviroment variables 'path' to make C:\Program Files\R\R-2.12.0\library\Rcpp\include\ searchable The sample C++ code I used is from the original website:

About integrating R inside a C++ software
Hi, We are a company developing a software mainly in C++. We want to integrate R inside our software in order to use mainly the engine (usual stats as mean, sigma, Pearson, outlier detection, CPA, multivariate, ...) and probably later the chart solution. Of course we don''t want to temporary write the data to some csv files and then do an ugly system() call :

Help with integrating R and c/c++
Hi, I have been using R for close to two years now and have grown quite comfortable with the language. I am presently trying to implement an optimization routine in R (Newton Rhapson). I have some R functions that calculate the gradient and hessian (pre requisite matrices) fairly efficiently. Now, I have to call this function iteratively until some convergance criterion is reached. I think the

"undefined symbol" when `R CMD check'.
Hi! All. I want to make R package with "http://code.google.com/p/uchardet/" library. But I encountered error. Executable file with -lchardet works well but shared library didn't work with dyn.load() with Rcpp. Can any one give some tips? * installing *source* package ‘Ruchardet’ .. ** libs g++ -I/usr/share/R/include -DNDEBUG -I/usr/local/include -I/usr/include

FW: [Rcpp-devel] Question on 5.6 Interfacing C++ code
Hi, apparently I sent my question about using R and C++ to the wrong list, ironically seeing as that list was called Rcpp. Anyway, I was directed to post my question here. To summarize my current question, I have found two commands that I want to be able to put into a package. The commands are 'R CMD SHLIB X.cc X_main.cc' and

Rcpp with OpenMP - Need example Makevars
Dear R experts, recently I started developing a Rcpp package "OpenMPTest". Within that package I want to use OpenMP, as in the following code example: // header file #include <omp.h> using namespace Rcpp ; RcppExport SEXP testOpenMP( SEXP nThreads ) ; // cpp file SEXP testOpenMP( SEXP nThreads ) { BEGIN_RCPP NumericVector numberThreads = NumericVector( nThreads );

QT + RInside problem complement
The solution post is here: http://lists.r-forge.r-project.org/pipermail/rcpp-devel/2012-November/004771.html In the paragraph: I did need however to install Rcpp and RInside from source, and with the same compiler used to compile qtdensity (otherwise I would get additional linker errors). As I had trouble getting the (Cygwin-based) g++ shipped with Rtools to work with Qt, I used instead the

Rcpp, dyn.load and C++ problems
I would go to the source, in this case Dirk Eddelbuettel's (I hope I spelled it correctly) documentation for Rcpp: http://dirk.eddelbuettel.com/code/rcpp/Rcpp-attributes.pdf Note that you need to do sourceCpp("logistic_map.cpp") in R instead of building and dyn.load()-ing the object. Rscript path problem on R 2.13.1 for Ubuntu 11.04?
Dear all, finally decided to do an Ubuntu upgrade and a new clean R install from http://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu/. However, while trying to install a package from R-forge I encountered problems, involving error messages saying "Rscript execution error: No such file or directory" (see below). The same procedure works on Ubuntu 11.04 running R 2.12.1-1 from the Ubuntu

GPL and R Community Policies (Rcpp)
This post asks members of the R community, users and developers, to comment on issues related to the GNU Public License and R community policies more generally. The GPL says very little about protecting the the rights of original contributors by not disseminating misleading information about them. Indeed, for pragmatic reasons it effectively assumes that original authors have no rights regarding

Rcpp, dyn.load and C++ problems

However search for "Rcpp calling C++ functions from R" gives a lot of result but I think some of them are outdated and others don't agree with each other. Can you point to a specific good on-line guide for me? Regards

Migrating R packages from svn/R-Forge to git/Github
[I'm not sure if this post should go to R-devel, but thought I'd start here for wider readership.] I have a collection of R packages that I maintain using the eclipse/StatET IDE (mainly on Windows) with SVN on the R-Forge system, https://r-forge.r-project.org/users/friendly/ I'd like to consider moving these to git projects on GitHub, but I'm not sure how best to get started.
