Samba writing speed with big blocks
Hello ! I'm having serious problems with Samba's writing speed (both 2.0.5a from RH 6.1 and 2.0.6 compiled from sources) on a 100Mbit network. If I write a file with block size 65487 or less, then the writing speed is about 7-8 MB/s - a very nice value, my bow to the Samba team :) If I change the block size to 65488 or more, then the writing speed falls down to 3 MB/s, which is not what

upgrade to 4.8.3 authentication not work without specifying domain
I updated a centos 7 without changing the samba configuration. Before authentication worked even without having to specify the domain to the logon. After the update, on the other hand, it is mandatory to specify the domain. user password: not work. domain \ user password work. I have 5000 windows (xp / 7/10) clients not in domain. Client workgroups are varied. Users are not expert at all and

upgrade to 4.8.3 authentication not work without specifying domain
How about setting: map untrusted to domain = yes The default changed here. But it would still help if we could see the smb.conf as the big difference with 4.8 is that winbind needs to run now. This might also do something like this. Regards Christian Am 11.01.19 um 10:46 schrieb L.P.H. van Belle via samba: > I gave you the most simple option. > > And the difference is. >

xen-3.0.2-3
Hi I read a few times in the web about xen-3.0.2-3 but I cannot find a place to download it. Not even here: http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/Research/SRG/netos/xen/downloads/ Where can I get it? And does it have network issues solved? And what is the most current kernel I can use with xen? How do I change the source to use a more current kernel than 2.6.16.6? NFS vs Replication
Thank you all for replies!!! Some missing infos... - As load balancer I'm using a pair of keepalived with simple setup and not the DNS - Load balancer algorithm is "Weighted Least-Connection" - About 20 domains and 3000 email - I'm monitoring my backend servers with poolmon - The backend servers are virtual machine (vmware) with datastore on "all flash" storage based

communication between icecast and sources
re all! anybody thought about communication between icecast and streaming sources? it would be nice to know how much people is listening directly from the program you use to stream, or maybe do stuff like switching the clients from a source to another with a simple click and so on i know this could be done using a telnet connection and eventually i'm going to do so, but i thought that if

NFS vs Replication
Hello list, I built an email system using a proxy / director pair (IMAP, POP3, LMTP) and a backend pair. To have an HA system, I would like to understand if it is better to use an NFS export or replication to save emails and index files NFS is provided by a NAS (in HA), while for replication I would use the local backend disks Which of the two systems is more reliable? Are there any drawbacks

Identify internet/intranet connection
Is it possible to identify if someone is connecting my rails app through the internet or an intranet? I would like to enable web access only to a couple of users, others should be able to login only when inside their intranet. Question w/intranet and internet
Greetings, We are using a private class B behind a firewall for about 15 months and all is well using Samba. However I notice a strange problem: When the real Internet is down (namely our router to the internet) the samba boxes (all of which are behind the firewall) do not function correct (at a minimal no domain logons for 95/98) Router(Gateway for real internet) =====|firewall|=======

Redirect to intranet webserver if not on maclist
First off, I want to say that everyone on this list is great. So heres what I want to do..I have a maclist setup with all my users (roughly 400). There are constantly people leaving (deleting their accounts which removes their MAC address) and registering for internet access ( I have a php webserver that registers them, adds them to the maclist, and allows them on the net). Is there a way to
