Degeneration of CPU Performance
Hello everybody! We have a interesting issue about dovecot behavior here. First, the scenario: We have 2 server running with the same load, one with our old pop3 solution (out of date) and other with Dovecot. We realized that dovecot are comsuming more CPU, and this consumption is growing day by day. When we starts dovecot, it runs between 40%-45% of CPU consumption and our old

Replicating Windows 2008 to Samba4
Hi, I am integrating the existing my domain with the samba4. For that, I tried to replicate one of my Windows 2008 DC to samba4 server DC. I successfully replicated the Windows 2008 to the samba4 DC. Here I can login with my windows client. In Linux client , Domain join is successful, But i can't login with the user credentials. In linux client, I am using PBIS application. In the log

Samba4 consumes more CPU
Dear Andrew, As per your suggestion , I have attached the gdb log of the samba and smbd process log running in the single server mode. Also when I noted in the perf top, libndr.so consumes the maximum cpu. I noticed that it happens soon after sometime the samba process is started and the CPU is filled up. Since the samba process occupies 100% atleast two or more CPUs out of 8 CPU , the clients

Problem with Icecast2/Ices streaming MP3.
Hello everyone, I am running Icecast 2.0.0 with ices-3.0. I run ices on a machine which has all the mp3 files I am playing and stream these mp3 to Icecast which is running on another machine. Every now and then, say 2 hours. Ices keeps churning out errors saying updating meta data and socket errors and keeps retrying and after some time it suceeds for one file and then when playing the next file

tinc memory usage very high for some instances
------- TL;DR ------- Many of the tinc daemons in a large (~50 node) tinc network tend to hog a lot of memory (>100MB). None of our smaller tinc networks do this. As to which nodes use a lot of memory, I could not find a distinguishing factor: tinc version, OS version, kernel version, being included in ConnectTo and tinc traffic seem all not to determine memory consumption. Architecture may

Samba4 high cpu load
OpenSUSE 12.1 Version 4.0.0alpha19-GIT-7290a62 Upon starting, s4 burns the CPU for around 5 minutes: PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 3672 root 20 0 72780 20m 2388 R 95.4 1.1 0:36.84 samba After which all is well. Maybe this is just openSUSE as on Ubuntu it's less than 5 minutes (but still there). Any ideas? Cheers, Steve

Changing performance.parallel-readdir to on causes CPU soft lockup and very high load all glusterd nodes
By chance... it's not 3 replica, 1 arbiter is it? Windows Xen VM's have high guest CPU usage and poor performance
Hello all, I have a PowerEdge 2950 that I am using to host Windows XP VM's under CentOS. I am experiencing poor performance in the Xen VM's. Any time I try to do something, the CPU usage (as reported by the Windows task manager) hits 100% for a few and then drops back down. This is causing the VM's to run sluggish and be quite annoying to use. Example.. I click IE.. cpu hits

ntpd heavy CPU consumption
CentOS 6.4, x86_64. ntpd on one of my systems has started consuming 66% of one core, although it appears to be functioning correctly otherwise. No pertinent logs. Of course, nothing was changed :) I've seen this before many times, but usually the CPU consumption falls back to normal within a day or so, but this has been going on for several weeks now. Stopping and restarting ntpd makes

ICE consuming High CPU
Hi, I am on asterisk 12.6.0. Previously I was using 10.0.1 and for Gtalk I was using chan_gtalk and jabber configuration. But on 12.6.0 I tried to use chan_motif, asterisk starts consuming 100% cpu. From pstack trace I got it is because of ICE and to run motif ICE is necessary. Has anyone else seen this issue or any solution for this? I am using neither STUN nor TURN. I have just enabled ICE in

[LLVMdev] Embed LLVM/Clang in our project
This is just standard behavior of the Python interpreter. The files are just a cache (it is not the sources being modified) and also won't be written if the source tree is made read only, and shouldn't cause a problem in practice. - Daniel On Jan 22, 2013, at 0:02, Duncan Sands <baldrick at free.fr> wrote: > I would have expected the .pyc files to go in the objects directory.

Need support on CPU consumption of Opus Decoder
Hi, Can you please share if there is any CPU benchmark information on x86/ARM processor for Opus Decoder. If not available, can you provide me guidance to calculate CPU consumption. Also, planning to port Opus Decoder on RISC-V Architecture. If it is already available, Can you share corresponding links. Thanks and Regards, Jayakanth N Sent from
