Asterisk IP7960 and MWI Issue
All, I am running the following setup: Linux 3.10.0-123.4.2.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon Jun 30 16:09:14 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Asterisk 12.4.0 Cisco IP Phone 7960G I have an issue with MWI. For some reason after I delete my voicemail messages, the MWI of the phone is ON for another 20-30 minutes. It seems that there is a poll interval of some kind. I am not sure whether it is a

What are the differences between systemd and non-systemd Linux distros?

Linux kernel is already containing chunks of code related to systemd/firewalld and friends. One can disable stuff during kernel build, but the result it still is not like

firewalld being stupid
Greetings, One of my biggest frustrations with CentOS 7 has been firewalld. Essentially all of the documentation just flat doesn't work. One common thing that needs to be done is to change the zone of an interface, however I've tried: firewall-cmd --permanent --zone=internal --change-interface=ens192 firewall-cmd --permanent --zone=internal --add-interface=ens192 I've also tried

firewalld rule syntax
I'm still learning firewalld obviously, and I am having trouble groking the documentation to understand how to do this. I know I could do an iptables direct, but that doesn't seem like the "right" way to do it. What I'm trying to do is allow a specific service, only for a specific ip. Effectively, SNMP should be allowed form a specific IP address (the systems monitor).

Desktop Over NFS Home Blocked By Firewalld
Hi, Just installed CentOS 7 that serves a home dir automounted over nfs. SELinux is disabled. If I go to the client (oldish version of Fedora) doing su - username works fine and the nfs export is mounted and I can see all files and everything seems well. But trying to actually login to the desktop from the client machine does not work. It starts to login but then just hangs with a black screen.

rpart/tree issue
I am trying to create a classification tree using either tree or rpart but when it comes to plotting the results the formatting I get is different than what I see in all the tutorials. What I would like to see is the XX/XX format but all I get is a weird decimal value. I was also wondering how you know which is yes and which is no in each leaf of the tree? Is yes always on the left?

vpopmail disabled services fix
I noticed that disabling services using vpopmail was not being recognized by dovecot. Using "vmoduser -swip user at domain.com" should disable all services, but both pop and imap logins were still allowed. After a bit of digging in the code and confirming with a few debug lines, it appears that lines 38 and 52 of src/auth/passdb-vpopmail.c are the issue (dovecot 2.0.8). These two

firewall help request
Is your policy accept? It is possible to trace the packet through the netfilter path by setting up raw table rules with TRACE as the target and logging turned on (search the web for details - probably too much to post here) but be aware that you need a very controlled test because the syslog entries will likely be an order of magnitude greater than the actual packet count.
