vmware fusion display auto-size problem
Greetings. I am running vmware fusion 4.1.1 on a OSX host. Centos6.2 is a guest. The box is a macbook laptop running leopard. Before upgrading to 6.2, the display auto-resize (or auto-fill) was working fine. After 6.2, it has stopped working. Centos is fully updated to 6.2. I have tried to install the vmware drivers from the repository (via yum), and yum reports I have the latest.

Networking issues with OpenSolaris/Dom0 or VMware Fusion
Hi: I got OpenSolaris 2008.05 running as dom0 under VmWare fusion on my MacBook pro. Using the instructions from Dipleep''s blog http://blogs.sun.com/dkumar/entry/how_to_create_domu_in Everything seems okay except the networking. When booting OpenSolaris (without dom0) the pcn0 interface works just fine but when booting Solaris xVM version them pcn0 does not work (ie) I get failures

sshd 7.8p1 close connection from VMware Fusion NAT Port Forwarding
After upgrading my VMware Fusion (10.1.3) Arch Guest to the latest with OpenSSH upgraded from 7.7p1 to 7.8p1, found that ssh from macOS Sierra (10.12.6) host to Arch guest via local NAT port forwarding failed, but via Arch LAN IP worked, downgraded OpenSSH from 7.8p1 to 7.7p1 fixed the problem. Any idea about this bug? VMware Fusion NAT Port Forwarding setup: VMware Fusion ? NAT Port Forwarding

CentOS 5.1 guide for VMware Fusion
Hello all, I recently created a VM running CentOS 5.1 x86-64 for development purposes. Along the way, I found a number of fixes to various issues one can experience under VMware and decided to turn my documentation into a general guide that others might benefit from. I have not found any guides for VMware Fusion on OS X, so I figured it is a worthwhile endeavor. It is likely that most or all of

Issue installing Centos server on Vmware Fusion/Server
Hi All, I've had issues over the last few days trying to create a Centos server image . I've tried with Vmware fusion and Vmware server and it skips directly to the default desktop install and doesn't give me the option to run the linux server. I am not sure if you've seen this earlier. I've tried with Centos 5.8 and 6.0 but the installer seems to work in that manner .

Changing LANG from de_DE to en_US in CentOS 6
Hello, on a Macbook with OSX Yosemite (which prints de_DE.UTF-8 as value of $LANG in Terminal) and VmWare Fusion 7 I have installed CentOS 6.6 minimal. When I ssh to my new VM as root, the $LANG is de_DE.UTF-8 too. I would like it to be en_US.UTF-8 instead. I have grepped /etc and /root for "de_DE", but nothing is found there. Grepping for LANG in /etc gives many results, esp.

CentOS 5 Beta on a MacBook Pro
FYI, I just installed CentOS 5 beta with the SMP kernel in a VMWare fusion virtual machine on my 2.33 GHz 15 inch MacBook Pro. The installation was flawless. I installed from an NFS share on my network with the ISO images. The vm booted disc one and recognized my 802.11n wireless connection as eth0. The install took about 30 minutes. Everything worked fine... -Joe

OSX: trying to use libvirt 1.1.0 with VirtualBox 4.2
I see that libvirt 1.1.0 should now support virtualbox 4.2, but I'm having problems getting it to work in OSX. I have built it using homebrew, which now has 1.1.0 in its formulae. The error I get when tying to connect is shown below. Any suggestions for where I should look next? The error about "Failed to find user record for uid 'NNNNN'" is odd. libvirtd *is* started

kvm/vmware side-by-side?
http://libvirt.org/drvvmware.html says "The libvirt VMware driver should be able to manage any Workstation, Player, Fusion version supported by the VMware VIX API." 1. Does this mean it supports the vmware hypervisor, or just that it understands the disk images and perhaps other cotnrol file info? 2. If it supports the hypervisor, does this mean that kvm and vmware hypervisors can be

libvirt and VMWare Workstation Shared Server mode (of GSX history)
Hi everyone, I searched previous postings and I couldn't find a definitive answer on this.. I run a small lab of RHEL/Centos Based servers on which there's VMWare Workstation running on a non-standard port but still manageable by tools like VMrun (and the Fusion of Workstation GUI, of course). I'm trying to use virsh with this setup and getting the following error from both

Shutdown CentOS VM when closing VMWare Workstation
Hello, I'm using CentOS 5.5 / 16bit as a virtual machine in VMWare Workstation and have installed the "VMWare Tools" by running vmware-install.pl and vmware-config-tools.pl but can't figure out how to make the VM shutdown, when I shutdown the Windows PC hosting it. Does anybody please have any hints or scripts? Do I need to use any VMWare modules if I just want to shutdown the

really dumb question with building/creating a new package.
r-package-devel is probably a better place to post this, especially if you do not get a satisfactory reply here. This list is about R programming, as you presumably know; your query is not.
