Latest 6.2 kernel is broken
I just kickstarted a new machine with the latest CentOS 6.2 files, including kernel 2.6.32-220.13.1.el6.x86_64. Setting up softflowd - set promiscuous or not?
Hi List, I''m in the process of setting up softflowd 0.9.9 on a Centos 6.4 system (compiled from source tarball). The daemon will listen to an unused interface that is receiving port mirrored traffic (a.la. Span port) I am planning on using the softflowd init script and sysconfig file provided in the tar ball. Do I need to manually put the unused interface into promiscuous mode, or

bnx2 losing connectivity
Hoping someone else has seen this before. I have a few dozen Dell R610 systems with CentOS 5.2 that are using kernels from 5.3 and 5.4 (2.6.18-128.1.10.el5 & 2.6.18-164.6.1.el5), that at random lose layer 2 network connectivity either partially or totally. Running tcpdump on the interface reveals only ARP broadcasts, no responses. Switch reports no packets being received on the interface.

Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5708 bnx2 bridging problem
Hi, I''ve run into the same issue as: http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2006-07/msg00599.html In that, running the network bridge script kills networking completely, trying to ping the gateway gives me destination host unreachable. The card is: 09:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5708 Gigabit Ethernet (rev 11) Using the bnx2 module:

Configure LAGG Interface?
Greetings- I'd like to configure multiple copper NICs on a server running CentOS 6.2 in a LAGG configuration for better throughput to the core switch. After quite a bit of searching, I'm not seeing anything of the sort. Is LAGG specific to the BSD world and the HP switches I'm running? Or, does it go by a different name? Bonding perhaps? If so, is bonding compatible with LAGG? --Tim

error enable msi for guest 4 status fffffff0 (link of nic exposed directly to domU using pciback stays down)
Hi xen-devel, I have been trying to pcihide a NIC from dom0 and directly claim it on domU. The dom0 had come up with the bnx2 driver claiming the nic card, but after that i did an unbind and bound the pciback driver with this interface. lspci on domU shows the only pci device and it is claimed by the bnx2 driver. However the link of the interface as shown by ethtool continues to be down. sedwards@sedwards.com causes me to be knocked off the list
Someone on this list uses the address @sedwards.com I doubt this is their actual email address as there is no MX record for sedwards.com and I can't find registration for their domain either. Part of my mail servers reject these emails because they cannot be replied to, or are likely to be spam. Every so often I get a mail from the list management to say that I've been unsubscribed

Xen networks running in Promiscuous modes
Can I ask you a quick question? I''ve set up bridge-networking for Xen 4.1 (xen-4.1.3-25.el5.22) and networking was being done properly for Dom0 and DomUs. However, I noticed that Dom0 receives a lot of network interrupts or network packets even when they were not actually meant for either Dom0 or DomU. Now, here are the questions: 1. Dom0 is acting in promiscuous mode, right? 2. If
