When I did the original apt-get to install, I got an error indicating Winbind was not configured and the script stopped there. Now every time I run apt-get -f I get the following. Installing SerNet Debian Samba
I've got myself in a bit of a pickle trying to install the latest Samba 3.6.20-31 package from SerNet on a Debian Wheezy server. The installed Debian version of Samba was 3.6.6. It's an off-line test server, and I'm still getting to grips with Debian, so no harm done, but I'd like to know the proper procedure to install this software! What I've done is: Edited

W2K8 ADS, sernet pkgs (debian)
Hi All! I use on my debian stable hosts here only sernet pkgs with samba 3.0.32. It works perfectly with Windows 2008 ADS. On my unstble host I have the 'standard' debian sid pkgs with samba 3.2.3. I have there a problem. It does work 45min - 1h and then I get this error with wbinfo -t: checking the trust secret via RPC calls failed error code was NT_STATUS_DOMAIN_CONTROLLER_NOT_FOUND

Seems solved - Re: sernet kerberos
Going back here on old messages about kerberos I did: yum install krb5-workstation And kinit and others are there and working. Seems reasonable that the client should not care about the backed type (Heimdal or MIT). Though don't know if I need to install krb5-devel; time will tell. sssd-ad cannot be installed with sernet samba

Have you tried this? apt-get install sssd-ad samba-libs- Notice the - at the end Found here: http://serverfault.com/questions/250224/how-do-i-get-apt-get-to-ignore-some-dependencies After this, try to resolve the dependencies of the sssd-ad.so file as I have written.
