Sync data between various PuppetDB instances
Dear all,
We have a few reasons to have various PuppetDBs (and Masters, one per
cluster) in our datacenter and, eventually, there may be a need to share
*only* a few exported resources between clusters, like a few ssh-keys or
nagios tests.
Is there a mechanism to pull and push some exported resources from one
PuppetDB to another? I guess this could be done with the API, but has
anybody tried it,

Possible memory leak in smbd?
I noticed one of my smbd processes for one particular client (IUSR_JUNIPER)
is taking 200MB in memory, far different from all the other smbd processes.
Should I be concerned about a memory leak here? I don't think samba would
be caching any files, so I can't see why it'd use this much memory.
That windows client is a win2k IIS5 server, with well over 60 sites that are
hosted off a

EDNS support
I am having problems with EDNS support on a few Centos 6.3 bind
servers. I am trying to determine if the problem is my Juniper SSG5
firewall of Centos.
All the servers have firewall enabled, though I have tested with
stopping iptables and ip6tables. I am using tests from:
https://www.dns-oarc.net/oarc/services/replysizetest
dig @localhost +short rs.dns-oarc.net txt

firewalld management on a headless server
Is there an Apache tool to manage firewalld on a headless server?
I am looking forward to my next Centos project which is to replace my
Juniper SSG5 firewall...
And along that line, what overlap, if any between firewalld and Suricata?
thank you

DH_GRP_MIN is currently 1024, should it be bumped to 2048?
Greetings,
Given the weakness with Diffie-Hellman modp groups less than 2048, is it
time to bump the suggested 1024 bit minimum value from the RFC 4419 to a
more current 2048 value for OpenSSH 7.0?
If so, should this be just a compile-time change, or should there be a
new client and server runtime option?
Thanks,

Simple lme/lmer random effects questions
Hello,
I have two very rudimentary questions regarding the random effects terms
in the lme and lmer functions. I apologize if this also partly strays
into a general statistics question, but I'm a bit new to this all. So
hopefully it'll be a quick problem to sort out...
Here is my experimental setup: I raised butterflies in 5 different

puppet ldap integration question
I want to deploy puppet with openldap for specific node configuration,
but only for specific nodes, every other node (not in LDAP) should
follow the ''default'' node definition.
Is it possible to mix and match like this?
As I try it I am getting err: Could not retrieve catalog: Could not find
node ''myhostname'' instead.

Puppet Manage Cisco ASA
Hello all,
Does anyone currently manage Cisco ASA''s out there via Puppet, if so how ?
Due to the size of our network it would be great if Puppet could manage
Object-groups and ACL''s etc to try and standardize across our ASA hosts.
e.g.
On one ASA an Object-group would be called
monitoring_server
on another ASA
mon_srv
another ASA
monsrv
It makes understanding the

quite the fix I''m hoping for. It will also go away if i remove my

Vlan trunk/QinQ connected to KVM guest
I am running KVM guests under Redhat 6. I tried to setup a bridge
device to an interface with a vlan trunk connected to a Juniper switch.
On the KVM host, I am able to define vlans and access them via the vlan
trunk. I was not able to access a vlan from the kvm guest connected to
the bridged interface. I believe this would be what is commonly called
QinQ or 802.1ad. Is this possible to do? I
