plot with two y axes BUT unaligned x axis
Hi all, I have scoured the archives of this forum but nothing quite seems to fit the bill... I would like to plot a graph displaying two variables (y axes) that share date as the x axis. However, the date values for each variable are not the same - for example, some parasitoids were not released on days that collections from the trap took place, whilst sometimes releases did occur on the same

generating a bar chart with two axis for co-linear variable
Hello Dimitris, I was goggling for some help on Sensitivity vs 1-specificity and saw your link. I hope you can be of help to me in one of the issue that I am facing in generating combo chart(bar chart and plot). I am a novice and have some difficulty in getting this logic correct. I am give a dataset (I am attaching a sample dataset). I am using a barplot() and passing values for

plot 2 y axis
Hi, I want to plot two variables on the same graph but with two y axis just like what you can do in Excel. I searched online that seems like you can not achieve that in ggplot. So is there anyway I can do it in a nice way in basic plot? Suppose my data looks like this: Weight Height Date 0.1 0.3 1 0.2 0.4 2 0.3 0.8 3 0.6 1

Issue displaying DATES on a plot with two ordinates
Dear all, I am having an issue with displaying the dates on a plot with two ordinates (i.e. two differently scaled y-axes). Instead of dates appearing on the x-axis I am instead seeing a string of numbers (14460, 14465, 14470 and 14475). example R code: library(plotrix) x.Left <- as.Date(c('2009-08-04', '2009-08-08', '2009-08-11', '2009-08-15',

boxplot with grouped variables
my dataset looked like this in the beginning: >Daten V1 V2 V3 1 Dosis Gewicht Geschlecht 2 0 6.62 m 3 0 6.65 m 4 0 5.78 m 5 0 5.63 m I need box plots for V2 with all combination of V1 and V3, so I deleted the first row, and tried this: boxplot(Daten$V2[Daten$V3=="m"]) but it does not work and I

conditional Dataframe filling
Hi everyone: This may be trivial but I just have not been able to figure it out. Imagine the following dataframe: a b c d TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE FALSE FALSE FALSE TRUE FALSE TRUE FALSE FALSE I would like to create a new dataframe, in which TRUE gets 0 but if false then add 1 to the cell to the left. So the results for the example above should be something like: a b c

converting a summary table to survey database form
Hi! I am looking to choose a condom based on its pleasure score. I received some summarised data from 10 individuals: structure(list(Ramses = c(4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 3, 4, 4, 3, 4), Sheiks = c(5, 5, 6, 4, 7, 6, 4, 5, 6, 3), Trojans = c(7, 8, 7, 9, 6, 3, 2, 2, 2, 3), Unnamed = c(2, 1, 1, 3, 3, 4, 5, 4, 4, 3)), .Names = c("Ramses", "Sheiks", "Trojans", "Unnamed"),

Superimpose two graphs
Dear R users, I want to superimpose two graphs as well as ensure that they should have same scale with same x & y axis. I am using following command but it does not ensure same scale. *pdf(file = "../RESULTS/RS1.simulated.pdf", width = 10, height =6)* *plot(Reserves.RS, col = 1:2, screen = 1)* *par(new= TRUE)* *barplot(RS.active, axes = FALSE)* *dev.off()* * * Regards Vikram

[LLVMdev] LLVM and coroutines/microthreads
I saw this was mentioned briefly last year, but there seemed to be some confusion as to what coroutines entailed and the thread died out. This technique has an unfortunate number of names, but it does get a lot of use, including popular languages like Ruby. I'm currently working on a programming language called Minnow (http://www.minnow-lang.org). It's an actor-based language, where

Consider the following model: class Studio < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :movies has_and_belongs_to_many :actors end class Movie < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :studio has_and_belongs_to_many :actors end class Actor < ActiveRecord::Base has_and_belongs_to_many :studios

Using indexing to manipulate data
I know one of R's advantages is it's ability to index, eliminating the need for control loops to select relevant data, so I thought this problem would be easy. I can't crack it. I have looked through past postings, but nothing seems to match this problem I have a data set with one column of actors and one column of acts. I need a list that will give me a pair of actors in each row,

has_many :through and scopes: how to mutate the set of associated objects?
I have a model layer containing Movie, Person, Role, and RoleType, making it possible to express facts such as "Clint Easterbunny is director of the movie Gran Milano". The relevant model and associations look like this class Movie < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :roles, :include => :role_type, :dependent => :destroy has_many :participants, :through => :roles, :source

Switchtower deployment
Hi, Has anyone experiences using SwitchTower (Windows) in a shared hosting environment (Textdrive)? I already patched the SwitchTower rake tasks (I don''t know if someone is interested on it), but i still experience some problems (not in the sudoers list, ...). Thank you for answer (and thank you to the textdrive guys, i never had a such fast support!) -- Jean-Etienne Durand
