HVM Migration of domU on Qemu-upstream DM causes stuck system clock with ACPI
This is problem 1 of 3 problems we are having with live migration and/or ACPI on Xen-4.3 and Xen-4.2.
Any help would be appreciated.
Detailed description of problem:
We are using Xen-4.3-rc1 with dom0 running Ubuntu Precise and 3.5.0-23-generic kernel, and domU running Ubuntu Precise (12.04) cloud images running 3.2.0-39-virtual. We are using the xl.conf below on qemu-upstream-dm and HVM and

preparing for 4.2.3 and 4.1.6
Aiming at a release some time in August, I''d like to cut RC1-s by
Thursday next week (as I''ll be on a two week vacation starting
Friday).
Please indicate any bug fixes that so far may have been missed
in the backports already done. A few fixes are currently stuck in
master''s staging branch (or pending to make it there) - these
don''t need to be named explicitly,

Archiving XCI : Request for an Archivation Review for the XCI project
Hi everybody,
the XCI project appears to have been dormant for a while and there is no
project lead for XCI today. In line with Xen governance (see
phttp://www.xen.org/projects/governance.html), I would like to first get
community views on the health of the project and then schedule an
archivation review.
Let me quote from the process: "The review is essentially a pitch why

Xen 4.3 release planning proposal
Hello everyone! With the completion of our first few release candidates
for 4.2, it''s time to look forward and start planning for the 4.3
release. I''ve volunteered to step up and help coordinate the release
for this cycle.
The 4.2 release cycle this time has been nearly a year and a half.
One of the problems with having such a long release is that people who
get in features

Using XL toolstack (Xen) with DRBD
Hello,
Currently it seems that the drbd disk type with Xen''s XL toolstack (vs XM)
to get the automatic promotion/demotion behavior of drbd devices is not
supported. Is there something I can tweak with the block-drbd script to get
this to work?
Thanks,
Chris

Will Xen 4.3 use upstream QEMU by default ?
Hi folks,
From the roadmap for Xen 4.3 development, Xen 4.3 will use upstream QEMU (partially done).
So I''d like to confirm the following questions.
1. Will Xen 4.3 really use upstream QEMU by default ?
I have the question because so far the xen.git tree still uses qemu-xen-unstable by default.
2. If ''yes'' for 1st question, which QEMU upstream will be used in Xen

Proposal - Add xe manpages to xen-org
Xen Community,
I have a team of people frantically creating manpages for the xe
command and all of it''s 361 subcommands. The initial source documentation
is in asciidoc but also saved as Docbook. From docbook we transform to
epub, html, manpage and pdf. This is currently being hosted in a subversion
server at a Seattle area college and we''d like to move it to the xen-org

Coverity + XenProject + Process?
Hey
We have a static analyzer setup for Xen called Coverity. It allows
the code to be inspected for bugs and such.
Originally I setup this so that we could make sure that there are no
bugs that cause security issues - and as such invited only folks
on the security Xen mailing list.
But there are other folks who I am sure would like to contribute
and as Coverity is pretty amazing at analyzing

[Just a new try] Questsions about Stubdomains
Hello all,
I hope that it now works and there is no longer problems with my
mailsystem. It could be that it already worked but it doesn''t look
like because the mail don''t came back from the list.
I am trying to setup stubdomains for my running domains on Xen 4.2. I

Release schedule for Xen 4.1
Following discussion, and a bit of slip to allow better contributions
from those who''ve been away for the Chinese New Year, the plan for 4.1
now looks like this.
We intend to go into code freeze at the end of the week, after which
patches even for bugfixes will be much harder to get into the tree.
We are here:

XEN/arm XENFB support
Goodmorning,
I''m currently playing with XEN/arm on my Allwinner A20 (cubieboard2)
I would like to get the XENFB driver working on domU.
But currently in xen/arm there''s no support for VFB, atleast qemu is not
supported.
But this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=po1IeElg8tg and this one

Xen 4.4 development update: RC0 imminent
This information will be mirrored on the Xen 4.4 Roadmap wiki page:
http://wiki.xen.org/wiki/Xen_Roadmap/4.4
We''re nearly to the completion of the code freeze, scheduled for
tomorrow. After the code freeze, only bug fixes and features marked
as "blockers" will be considered. At the moment, the only feature
considered a blocker is experimental PVH dom0 support.
In early RCs,

Resigning as lead of the Virt SIG
Hi all,
I wanted to let you know that I feel I need to step down as leader of the Virtualisation SIG. When I originally was approached by KB to do this, it was always clear that this would be a temporary thing until the SIG got going. At the time, only Xen and CentOS folks were involved with the SIG. Since then, we added oVirt and Docker maintainers, have a total of 5 maintainers and built good

Xen 4.x / Linux 3.x (dom0 and HVM domU) and NIC handling
Moving to public discussion...
This was found with Xen hypervisor version supporting device unplugging and the
domU kernel having net-/blkfront and pci platform built-in (or as module).
The block device is defined as hda and the NIC type=ioemu (so theoretically
guests without pv support would work, too).
Since both drivers are present, the kernel tries to unplug the emulated devices

Minimum python version for xen-4.1.1
Does xen-4.1.1 really require python 2.7 (as per Ubuntu packaging) or
will it actually work on python 2.6? I am trying to backport it to
an Ubuntu LTS version and would rather not have to bring in Python 2.7
if possible.

Reminder: Xen Hackathon hosted by Oracle, March 6-8, Santa Clara, CA, USA
Hi everybody,
just a quick reminder that the Xen Hackathon is in Oracle, March 6-8,
Santa Clara, CA, USA. We have originally planned for about 25 people,
but already we have 14 people signed up. If you are planning to attend
please sign up quickly, such that I get a feeling for the number of
attendees. I can then go back to Oracle and see whether we can
accommodate more people than we
