Delete voicemail messages on asterisk by replying to email
Like many users I get my voicemails emailed to me, AND left on the asterisk server, so that I can retrieve them by phone or by email. However, I was frustrated that after I deleted a message in outlook that I still had to delete it from asterisk manually. So, I wrote a script that runs on the asterisk box that allows the user to simply reply to an email (from the asterisk pbx) - which causes

Asterisk Voicemail
Hi List! I am running 'Asterisk 1.4.22 built by root' I have an issue with voicemails. In the var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default/extnnnn/inbox the msgnnn.txt files are flagged as readable, this causes asterisk to just skip over the voicemails when listening. drwx-w---- 2 asterisk 4096 2009-12-03 15:17 . drwx-w---- 7 asterisk 4096 2009-12-02 10:55 .. -r--rw-rw- 1 asterisk 267

video voicemail
Playing around with the Grandstream GXV3140. I'm interested in having the video voicemail clips emailed in a format that might be opened by Windows Media Player or even Quicktime. Have been googling around a lot and have tried various bits of OSS to read the resulting .h264 file that asterisk is saving, but having absolutely no luck. A video nut I know took a look at the file and said

Emailed voicemail
Have Asterisk us at running fine, but have run into a small snag. It's not emailing the voicemails to the users. I have attach=yes set, sendmail is configured and works from from the commandline (sent an email to myself). Unless I'm wrong, or missing something, asterisk is configured by default to send an email when a users receives a voicemail, correct? Thanx A

How to use google voice for voicemail transcription
No, I don't know how to do this. Does anybody? I'd like to take a voicemail file from asterisk (*.wav, *.gsm, *.mp3 ?) and send it to googlevoice as a voicemail, then get the transcription over gmail. I know about pygooglevoice (is it still maintained?). But I can't figure out how to dial gv and leave a message (robo dial??) from a system command. This would allow me to get

Low Volume WAV Files in Email Attachments
I have read several posts regarding this problem but can't find one with a solution... I see the same issue: Voicemails picked up by handset have normal volume, but voicemail sent as a wav attachments in email are so low they are barely usable... Is there a way to fix the volume before they are emailed out? Thanks for any tips.

Voicemail email attachment as MP3, with tags containing sender name, number, message number
I found some great pieces of script on the internet that I've combined to allow Asterisk to send voicemails as an MP3 file, and encode the sender name and number as well as message number as tags into the MP3 file. I even include a "cover art" image which has our company logo and PBX symbol in it. Mobile phone users love it, and Android phones can now play the attachments (without

DTMF recognition inconsistent in Asterisk
Hello, I am experiencing a strange problem and I am wondering if anyone may have some pointers as to how to overcome it. I have an account with VoipTalk here in the UK which I have connected to my Asterisk server. VoipTalk supports IAX2 and SIP and I have connected to my Asterisk box using both methods. The problem is when I dial into my Asterisk box via my VoipTalk incoming PSTN phone

voice recognition xml
Anyone here technical enough to design a voice recognition voice xml interchange for asterisk please email me; I've been speaking with a contact of mine that is in the voice recognition space and he is interested in 'donating' some technical support to the Asterisk community to assist with this project. This can only help benefit the Asterisk Community if this comes off. If

Voice recognition with Asterisk
What voice recognition software options are available with Asterisk? I've seen some references to Sphinx in the lists and docs, but I can't find details on on how to integrate with Asterisk. If anyone has had success integrating and using voice recognition in Asterisk, I would greatly appreciate advice and links to information. Thanks. -- David -------------- next part --------------

Voicemail consultation problem
Hello, A user who uses my Asterisk made me part of a worry about listening to his voicemails. He has received 4 voicemails on January 3, respectively at 3H00 pm, 3H36 pm, 3H41 pm and 4H40 pm. He has received notifications by e-mail at these times. On first listen to his messages, at 8.00 pm, Asterisk has announced two new voicemails(15H00 and 15H36). He has erased thos voicemails. At 8.30pm ,

Voice-Recognition / ASR / with barge in
Hi there, I am using Asterisk 11.9 (with Sangoma-E1-Card/DAHDI) and it works fine :-) But I am wondering if there is a solution/application which will enable me to implement voice recognition while playing a voice file (barge in). So that the caller hears a voice file and can interrupt it with his voice. Currently (on our platform) the caller has to wait for the end of the voicefie. Then we play

Voice recognition IVR Is it possible?
Hello list, I was wondering if it were possible for asterisk to do a voice recognition type IVR? Like you know how most banks and stuff do, where they ask you to say your selection or key it in? If this is possible, how can I set this up? I'm using FreePBX 2.11 on Linux, CentOS 6.7 32-bit, asterisk version 1.8.32.3. Thanks.

Voice Recognition
Has anyone out there had any success with any type of voice recognition? I would LOVE to see something work within Asterisk. I have tried for days and can't seem to get this right. Is it even possible? I have read everything I can find, but it's like the sphinx integration/documentation was dropped because of lack of interest. I tried this with Sphinx-2 because it contained the

Blank Voicemails/Vonage Problem
Regarding this message, I've actually been told one caller who has consistently had this problem was using Vonage, but calling from his Verizon line, it worked. This skewed my survey. Therefore I do believe it's the same callers having the issue, and in which case, I think Vonage is to blame. I found this thread:
