it to booting client via TFTP...I'm able to set up NFS server and point to
it within pxelinux *default configuration file...but I do not really know
how to provide a proper kernal image and initrd image for pxelinux booting

empty postscript output of figures
Hi,
I have a puzzeling problem. I want to export graphics from R to TeX via
postscript(). This works fine for some graphs, but for others, the eps
remain empty when viewed with GSView. When such an empty eps is imported
to TeX, the figure appears upside down and very small, irrespective of
TeX width and height commands. If I transform the eps to pdf, the
graphic shows up, but turned aqround 90°.

Installed Kernal (default)
Is there a description or statement that describes the stock kernal in
CentOS, and would give all the various modules it is compiled with? As
with BSD, I assume there are things in the kernal that are mandatory,
and then there are things that are optional or included so as to catch
most everything one could have w/r/t hardware. That being the case, as
with FreeBSD, removing those unneded

Heimdal or MIT kerberos comparison
What is the difference between Heimdal and MIT as far usability goes?
MIT seems to be the default on major linux distrobutions, but I here a
lot about people preferring Heimdal, but I can't find any reasons why.
Is one generally more stable/faster/reliable than the other?
There is already a blank wiki page at
http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_%26_Kerberos so if anyone has any

Mandrake 10, Request for comments.
My * is presently running fine on Mandrake 9.2, but Ive been entertaining
moving to Mandrake 10.0 to enjoy the obvious improvement in kernal speed Im
seeing on other 10.0 boxes Ive recently built for other applications. (10.0
is the first implementation of the 2.6 kernal)
Any comments from anyone who's running on 10.0?
IS anyone running * on Mandrake 10.0?
If so, any issues stand out?

question on share names
To all,
I am hoping that someone can give a lead or answer to my problem. I have
two RH linux servers with 2.2.16 kernal and kimberlite failover. Both are
configed using Samba 2.07. The smb.conf file is in the cluster directory so
that both servers read one conf file. Locks and log files are on shared
disk space. What I am seeing is this. Occasionally, and sometimes after
failover, my Samba

AW: Tall tale of woe....
Hello Ross,
I've got a similar problem since a week with my server.
I'm running RH 8.0 on a Xeon 1.4Ghz with 2GB RAM, too.
My CPU usage was pretty low (>90% idle) but the CPU load average was at 14.
For now I'm waiting for the next time it happens to get some more
information.
Best regards, Reiner

Kernal32 -- Known to do
I am an undergraduation and I am planning to do a known to do ( KERNAL
32) as my Final Year Project. I was wondering what should be the
capabilities to successfully complete it within one year. Keeping in
mind, I am new to this emulator.

Tall tale of woe....
For the last year or so i have been having problems in general with samba
(various versions) on the same box.
Dell 2500 Xeon 1.8 with 2gb of ram running Redhat 8.
What will happen from time to time (although its now happened 3 times in
the last 5 days, hence this email) is people will be slow to log in, if at
all. Several things appear to happen.
The main one is that a smbd process which

Trouble with large files and 1.9.18p10
Hi Folks,
I'm new to the list, and am writing because of some trouble I am
having. An old version of Samba is involved, and I am not sure that I
can upgrade. I am trying to explore the issue further.
I am currently using Samba 1.9.18p10 (I can hear the smack of 1,000
hands slapping foreheads now -- please read on). The problem is that the
Samba server hangs when I copy a large file (~100

winbindd exceeding 200 client connections
OS: RHE 3, kernal 2.4.21-32.0.1EL
Samba version: samba-3.0.20
Removed RHE version of samba and compiled/installed samba-3.0.20. After
running about 30-60 minutes, I get the following syslog msg:
"winbindd: Exceeding 200 client connections, no idle connection found"
Eventually this grinds the whole system to a halt, and remote & console
logins become impossible while samba is
