Facts and Stored Configs
So finally playing with PuppetDB and have to say its impressive. Planning
on extending it slightly to be a CMDB. With that in mind, we produce test
systems for developers to test the equipment they are developing on. So
these systems are rapidly deployed then torn down. A requirement has been
given to me to keep a snap shot of the systems and there configuration, so
identical systems can be

puppetca trouble (The certificate retrieved from the master does not match the agent's private key)
Hi @all,
i have a foreman-proxy server, build from scratch, works fine and i can
build unattended hosts.
I don''t want to configure all my foreman-proxys manually, so i build them
in puppet, and only setup the OS (SL) and basic puppet config manually.
I can run the puppet configuration sucsessfully, my config is exactly what
i want, but i am unable to build unattended hosts anymore,

gpxelinux
Hi All,
I'm trying to setup gpxelinux instead of pxelinux, my goal is to fetch the
configuration files and images via http.
additionally, I want to setup all servers to boot by default from PXE - the
idea is that I can control whats booted in another place, and I don't need
to physically (or virtually) go through menus or do stuff on the machine.
my basic proof of concept is:
isc dhcp

Cluster installation CentOS 7.4 network problems
Hi there,
after using Foreman successful on our clusters for more than a year. I'd
like to reinstall a 90 node cluster with Centos 7.4. It's now running on
Centos 7.3 . I'm not able to just update to 7.4 because of zfsonlinux
dependencies and well - some nodes died and had to bare metal install them.
So I was able to install these nodes successfully by pxe-booting and
using a

No reports in foreman
Dear all
I am trying to set up reports in foreman, but foreman tells me to configure
it.
What am I doing wrong?
I have on the puppet master:
/var/lib/puppet/reports/foreman.rb
with $foreman_url=http://rh6-puppet-master
Do I need the port?
/etc/puppet/puppet.conf with in [main] reports = log, foreman
I restarted the service service puppetmaster restart
in /var/log/messages I find: No

Adding Foreman to an existing Puppet master
Greetings:
Sorry for cross-posting this question, but I haven''t gotten any love
over on the Google Forum for Foreman users<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/foreman-users> (their
forum isn''t as active as this one). I only recently learned about The
Foreman and I''d like to deploy it on a 64-bit Ubuntu 12.04 LTS workstation
to provision/manage a bunch of

Exported resources not in the catalog
Hi,
I''m trying to use Puppet ability to export and collect resources using
PuppetDB.
My PuppetDB and Puppet Master are running on the same host and I used the
PuppetDB puppet module to install PuppetDB and configure the Puppet master.
Each time the puppet agent runs on a client, the facts and the catalog are
being pushed in PuppetDB and I can query the PuppetDB server to get

[Help] : Rails3.2 server hangs when started with Foreman
Hey guys,
I''m using foreman to try and run some delayed-jobs. However, when I
start a worker process along with the Rails server, the server hangs
after serving a couple of requests.
The worker if started separately, without using foreman - works well,
and processes requests when they are called with the ''delay'' keyword.
Here are some mroe details.

Foreman and Puppet managing templates question
Hi,
I have just started to use Foreman 1.1. I have been using Puppet for a
while and have some custom modules and ones that have been dragged down
from git etc.
I am using nodes.pp in Puppet to assign classes and template entries to
hosts.
So is Foreman meant to eliminate my need for a nodes.pp? How do I manage my
erb templates in Puppet without a nodes.pp?
Thanks,

Puppet with Mcollective, which modules and how ? (TheForeman)
Hi All,
I have a working installation of a Puppet Master (CA) with Puppet agents,
this using The Foreman. I really see the usage of Puppet this way but
because The Foreman supports pushing your classes/templates to you nodes
(agents) and uses the depricated Run/Kick for it I''m looking into
Mcollective.
Mcollective is supported by The Foreman since 1.2, the version I''m

hosts are created in sample.com domain the facts are returned when they are
created in testing,sample.com the facts are not returned I can see in the
log that they are reaching the server and getting redirected to the login
page. Where can I set it to also allow the testing.sample.com domain.

The Foreman: Query facts from ENC PuppetDB?
I''ve been using PuppetDB as an ENC for a while, but I haven''t really
utilized it for stored configs or anything. I was mostly interested in
replacing Dashboard''s reporting capabilities, but PuppetDB doesn''t yet do
anything (that I can see) with reports. So I''m currently looking into
setting up a separate Foreman server.
I saw the script mentioned

Problem with PXEBOOT of diskless client -- fails to mount RAMDISK
I am having a problem with setting up diskless clients under CentOS 5.2.
I have everything working under CentOS 4.7. This is an adaptation of
the (somewhat old) Diskless Linux with PXE HOWTO by Gerd v. Egidy,
originally at the URL
http://www.intra2net.com/opensource/diskless-howto/, which is now defunt
(there is a mirror of it at
