vfs_gpfs module errors
Hi I'm encountering an error with some of my Windows clients when using CTDB and samba to access a GPFS hosted share. We see the following error all the time. [2011/03/14 12:31:16.549084, 1] modules/vfs_gpfs.c:1099(vfs_gpfs_ntimes) vfs_gpfs_ntimes: set GPFS ntimes failed -1 The copy continues but is slow. All the timestamps seem reasonable for the data copied. The GPFS

Clustered Samba and OCFS2
Hi, I was reading the Clustered Samba Wiki and I noticed the following blurb about OCFS2 and Samba ( http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/CTDB_Setup#Other_cluster_filesystems). I was wondering if anyone can confirm that the "fileid:mapping" is or isn't required for OCFS2. I was also wondering if anyone would be willing to share their experiences with Clustered Samba OCFS2. Does it

CTDB potential locking issue
Hi Martin I just found the file, it's a config file that about 250 hosts read every half an hour so it makes sense this is getting some contention. However, the strange thing is, the share the file is in is a read-only share: [dist$] comment = Windows dist path = /path/to/share wide links = Yes browseable = Yes read only = Yes guest only = Yes

change notify or something
Hello all, I hope someone could help me to find some (either Samba or Windows XP) configuration settings which would solve the following problems we ar acurrently facing or identify the below described problem being a bug eventually. We have a production Samba 3.5.1 with CTDB clustering on top of GPFS filesystem. Samba is a Windows domain member server serving a number of SMB shares. The strange

CTDB + Samba + Winbind + ActiveDirectory
Hi All, Are there any special CTDB/SMB configuration settings/dependencies to manage Winbind across CTDB managed servers authenticating via Active Directory(AD)? An example would be Samba's IDMAP backend for Winbind: RID vs. AD or tag Winbind to a primary CTDB node and point other nodes to authenticate from AD via proxy primary CTDB node? /etc/sysconfig/ctdb on all nodes is as follows:

CTDB issues with Windows XP clients
Hi, everyone, I setup two-node samba cluster with ctdb and glusterfs. When one node fails, another node can takeover ip and cifs sessions, so application can not breaks. Linux cifs client works fine when disable one node. However, it does not work under windows xp. I am copying a big file to samba share, meanwhile I disable the connected node, then copy break with "The specified network

File integrity in Samba/NFS environment
Hi, I have a two server setup that acts as SMB as well as NFS servers in active/active configuration managed by CTDB(http://ctdb.samba.org/). When a file is updated by SMB clients(followed by file-close), other SMB clients can see and modify the file. But when a NFS client (same user) updates the same file(followed by file-close), only one SMB server can see the updates. The clients mounting

ctdb node disable windows xcopy break
Hi, What did I miss / do wrong? My config didn't work like on the below linked video: http://www.samba.org/~tridge/ctdb_movies/node_disable.html With my config, the copy process fails/breaks despite that the tesztxp PC successfully maps the other (samba) PC in case the first (samba) PC is out. In the samba logs (even at log level = 10) I didn't see any information that can help me solve

Winbind/AD/NFSv4: can't `ls/cd` private directory?
Hello everyone, We have a CentOS 6.3 NFSv4 server and client, and we've run into a situation where the client is unable to list "private" (chmod 700-ed) directories, even if the current user owns the directory in question. A bit more background: we're also using Samba 3.5+Winbind to provide authentication and UID/GID mapping against a Windows 2008 R2 domain controller.
