R 3.4 has broken C++11 support
Hi Dirk and Martyn, > That looks fine. Can you please give a reproducible example of a package > that compiles correctly on R 3.3.3 but not with R 3.4.0 or R-devel. here you go, it?s pretty much the simplest package possible that needs C++11: https://github.com/flying-sheep/cxx11test > Maybe you can share with us how you configure the build of R-devel? Sure, in the mail you quoted, I

Having both R-current and R-devel installed on Ubuntu
Hi Dirk, I too would need to get R-devel on my Ubuntu box (alongside an existing R installation) to check my packages, especially given the mayhem that awaits us when the new `R CMD check --as-cran` goes live. ( http://stat.ethz.ch/R-manual/R-devel/doc/html/NEWS.html ) I was wondering if the script that you posted on r-sig-debian a couple years back was still valid. More however, I'd like to

Having both R-current and R-devel installed on Ubuntu
Dear List, Having used R on Windows for years, I have recently installed Ubuntu as a virtual machine. I admit that I am quite new to the linux world. Installing R (current version = 2.15.1) went smoothly, but I would like to have both the current version of R and R-devel installed. I've searched the net for info on doing this but so far without luck. Can anyone help me getting this up and

R 3.4 has broken C++11 support
Hi! Well, my linux distribution has very recent versions of everything, so a working C++11 compiler exists: $ gcc --version | head -n1 gcc (GCC) 6.3.1 20170306 Could wrong ./configure options be at fault here? See: https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=r-devel#n40 My sessionInfo(): $ R-devel --slave -e 'sessionInfo()' | head -n3 R Under development (unstable)

installing R-devel on ubuntu
Hi All: I've been trying to install R-devel on my ubuntu 14.04 machine by following the directions at this link. http://singmann.org/installing-r-devel-on-linux/ The link is extremely clear and detailed but I run into an odd problem. When I run the script at the bottom of this ( which I call build-R-devel ), the following directory structure gets created. :/usr/local/lib/R> dir total 56

' --enable-R-shlib' problem when setting up R-devel in Linux Mint 17.1 64-bit
Dear list, This is my first time trying to set up the development version of R (R-devel ) in my local machine to test some packages before submitting them to CRAN. I'm using Linux Mint 17.1 64-bit, which is an Ubuntu-based distro. However, I'm not able to correctly set up r-devel, apparently due to a problem with enabling the shared library support. I run the first script given by Dirk

pdftools on Ubuntu
Hi Francois, Thanks for your quick response. Actually, I had already done that... sudo apt-get install libpoppler-cpp-dev Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done libpoppler-cpp-dev is already the newest version (0.41.0-0ubuntu1.1). 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 107 not upgraded. Therefore, I assume I have this installed. Best

Winbind, Kerberos, SSH and Single Sign On
Hi, at first I'm not sure if this is the correct list to ask this question. But since I'm using winbind I hope you can help me. I try to realize a kerberized ssh from one client to another. Both clients are member of subdom2.subdom1.example.de and joined to it. The users are from example.de, where subdom1.example.de is a subdomain (bidirectional trust) of example.de and

grep and PCRE fun
Hello, I think I've found a bug in the C function do_grep located in src/main/grep.c. It seems to affect both the latest revisions of R-2-13-branch and trunk when compiling R without optimizations and with it's own version of pcre located in src/extra, at least on ubuntu 10.04. According to the pcre_exec API (I presume the later versions), the ovecsize argument must be a multiple of 3 ,

question releated to Makefile dependencies
I changed my configure + build 1-liner of wine : $>export CFLAGS="-O2 -march=native -pipe -g -ggdb"; export CXXFLAGS="$CFLAGS"; export CC="ccache gcc"; ./configure --enable-tests; make -j 2 with respect to the CFLAGS and wonders now, why make after the "make depend" step didn't found anything new to build. Doesn't depend the main target from

buildworld with clang breaks because no cc
I am doing a buildworld with clang on amd64 9.1-PRERELEASE #2 r242867. In /etc/src.conf I have "WITHOUT_GCC= yes". Compile progresses up to below then breaks: ===> usr.bin/xlint/xlint (all) ===> usr.bin/xlint/llib (all) lint -cghapbx -Cposix /asp/src/usr.bin/xlint/llib/llib-lposix lint -cghapbx -Cstdc /asp/src/usr.bin/xlint/llib/llib-lstdc ===> lib/clang/libllvmx86codegen (all)

Win 64 package build - ERROR: loading failed for 'x64'
I have developed an R package that works under Win32, but when I attempt to build it on Win64, I get ERROR: loading failed for 'x64' More precisely, I developed and tested the package under Win32 and it works. But when I move to a 64 bit Windows 7 (Home Premium) system, and attempt to build both 32 bit and 64 bit packages, the 32 bit package seems to build, but the 64 bit build

R pkg install should fail for unsuccessful DLL copy on windows?
Hi all, I am having an issue related to installing packages on windows with R-3.6.0. When installing a package that is in use, I expected R to stop with an error. However I am getting a warning that the DLL copy was not successful, but the overall package installation IS successful. This is quite dangerous because the old DLL and the new R code could be incompatible. I am definitely not the

Overwrite target of ln
Hi all, Sorry if this seems too basic. But is there a way to overwrite the target of a symbolic link without first deleting the symlink itself? For example, if I have this: public_html -> releases/b2b-20080228 ... and there's a new update, I can then just do the following: $ ln releases/site-latest public_html I tried using the -f option but it doesn't seem to work as expected.

[LLVMdev] Possible LLVM or DragonEgg bug
I have downloaded and compiled the latest versions of LLVM and DragonEgg from SVN, but I still seem to get this same problem. I am using 64-bit Linux OS maybe the fix was only for 32-bit OS'es? ________________________________________ From: llvmdev-bounces at cs.uiuc.edu [llvmdev-bounces at cs.uiuc.edu] On Behalf Of Duncan Sands [baldrick at free.fr] Sent: Wednesday, February 16, 2011 5:14 PM

WGCNA package installation segmentation fault
Hi all, a user contacted me about a segfault when installing WGCNA package dowloaded from CRAN. I also see a segfault like that on certain installs of R. The package passes all CRAN checks, so presumably this has something to do with the R installation or environment. The R versions here are not the newest but I would guess that this is not an R version issue. I'm attaching two
