dsync in a cronjob to replace offlineimap
Hi list, Replacing offlineimap with dsync for IMAP-to-IMAP synchronization (using dovecot 2.1.7) is working great, but now that I upgraded to 2.2.9 I'd like to take advantage of the incremental replication [1]. I don't think having a separate replicator process & notifications suits my configuration, as I want to sync my server with my laptop which is not always on or might be behind

Dsync from multiple IMAPs -- personal/local dovecot setup
Hello list, new aspiring user here, if I'm not in the wright place sorry, I do not fund any other option for now... As from subject I'm looking for a *personal* *standalone* dovecot setup, especially I'm looking for a DSync from multiple IMAP accounts to a local maildir (to being compatible with notmuch). My actual mail setup is: OfflineIMAP that sync different mailboxes in a

dsync error: gz trailer has wrong CRC value
A few days ago by dovecot installation started behaving weirdly. First it was doveadm fts optimize which would fail (a thread running about that) and now it's dsync, which means my backups are not working. This all started a few days ago, which I find a little weird, because I haven't messed around with the dovecot setup in months. I've been searching the internet, but didn't find

Converting mailboxes from one Maildir format to another
I am currently running dovecot 2.0.9 on a CentOS 6 server with the following layout for mailboxes: mail_location = maildir:~/Maildir I would like to change the layout to this format to match the output of other software packages such as offlineimap, mbsync, etc: mail_location = maildir:~/Maildir:LAYOUT=fs:INBOX=~/Maildir/INBOX Is there a way to convert the mailbox layout for all mail accounts

Problems Converting from Cyrus to Dovecot (cyrus2dovecot)
v2.2.19 has many fixes related to dsync+imapc, which were found while migrating several million users from GMail. I'm not aware of any problems with it now. Also even before v2.2.19 dsync+imapc has been used to successfully do many large migrations. > On 26 Nov 2015, at 17:49, FUSTE Emmanuel <emmanuel.fuste at thalesgroup.com> wrote: > > Hi, > > No, I tried fetching

Hi, I think you tried to read cyrus mails folders directly. I was talking about fething mails from cyrus over imapc connection. Problems Converting from Cyrus to Dovecot (cyrus2dovecot)
Hello, Because it did not work ? In a similar situation, we where forced to use isync/mbsync in imap to imap mode because dsync did not work. It was reported here more than a year ago (May 2014). Time to time, I see the same report from other trying to use dsync to do a migration to dovecot. Dsync is a very appealing and elegant solution to this usage, but it does not always work in real

Problems Converting from Cyrus to Dovecot (cyrus2dovecot)
Hi, No, I tried fetching over imapc too exactly as you suggested. In my case it was not from cyrus, but from CriticalPath. isync was finally able to do the job, preserving flags and doing UIDs mapping. The most boring part was generating proper config file for thousands of accounts. A working imapc/dsync would have been better. Emmanuel. Le 26/11/2015 15:24, Sami Ketola a ?crit : > Hi,

dsync replication available for testing
In dovecot-2.1 hg you can now test dsync-based replication. Everything isn't finished yet, but it appears to work and I've enabled it for my @dovecot.fi mails. Some issues: - public namespace isn't replicated at all - shared namespace is replicated, but not private mail flags - I've only tested SSH replication setup now, not director replication setup (and director setup

2.2.18: Mailbox INBOX sync: mailbox_delete failed: INBOX can't be deleted.
Hello Could my previously reported error above have something to do with the IMAP path prefix? It's not configured on either of the previously mentioned servers. I see a similar error, which may be related, when trying to sync using offlineimap.py: Folder INBOX [acc: test_account]: ERROR: ERROR in syncfolder for test_account folder INBOX Thanks Dale On 5 August 2015 at 16:59, Dale

dsync convert Maildir -> mdbox, separators in subscriptions file
Hello, I'm playing around with Dovecot 2.0 beta 4. If I use dsync to convert a users mail stored in Maildir format to mdbox format, the subscriptions file in the new mdbox is created using the wrong mailbox separator ('.') leading to folders within folders not being readable by clients using the subscription feature. Excerpt from IMAP: . LIST "" "*" * LIST

dsync mbox to maildir migration does not delete, deleted e-mails
Hello, I am planning to migrate all users from mbox to maildir. I am trying to do it with minimum downtime. (~100GB data) All users are currently using POP3. Dovecot version is 2.2.10 (latest). Command used is: dsync -u username mirror maildir:~/Maildir Process I plan is: (omitting steps related to sendmail / procmail) 1) keep dovecot running (with mail_location as mbox) 2) dsync for all

dsync duplicates messages/crashed if a 'large' number of messages has been deleted
Hi, I try to mirror two dovecots with: dsync -v -f -u login mirror ssh -o IdentityFile=/etc/dovecot/dsync.d/id_rsa root at shrike dsync -u login This usually works, but if I delete a certain number of emails, I get this messages: dsync-local(mailverwalter): Info: Posteingang: Ignored 178 modseq changes dsync-local(mailverwalter): Info: Posteingang: Couldn't keep all uids

problems running dsync
First I had to do "chmod a+rw /var/run/dovecot/auth-userdb" to avoid permission problems. I assume this isnt how I should do it right? Dsync error when working dir o-rwx
Hi, I dont know why dsync requires o+rx in working dir, at least it could give better error message when working dir has o-rwx. # cd # mkdir test # cd test # dsync -D -v -u 'info at example.org' -o 'mail_privileged_group=mail' -o 'mail_location=mbox:/email/info at example.org/mail:INBOX=/var/mail/info at example.org' mirror 'maildir:~/Maildir' dsync(info at
