Enable async journals
Hi all,
we use SLES 11 and Lustre 1.8.1.1 + patches and like convert a lustre FS
using external journals to one with async journals enabled.
Question is whether the procedure:
umount <filesystem> on all clients
umount <osts> on all OSSes
e2fsck <ost-device> on all OSSes for all all OSTs
tune2fs -O ^has_journal <ost-device> on all

Depreciated client still shown on OST exports
Some clients have been removed several weeks ago but are still listed in:
ls -l /proc/fs/lustre/obdfilter/*/exports/
This was found after tracing back mystery tcp packets to the OSS.
Although this is causing no damage, it raises the question of when
former clients will be cleared from the OSS. Is there a way to manually
remove these exports from the OSS?

[PATCH 0/1] drm/nouveau/disp: prefer identity-mapped route of SOR <-> macro link
Hi Ben,
still _assuming_ it's an issue of the card I thought about why it
works with the NVIDIA binary driver.
And I can image they're just trying to do an identity-mapping first
and if that doesn't work (e.g. the particular SOR is already in use
by another macro link) they just pick the next suitable one.
So the case would be that the NVIDIA binary driver always assignes

1.8.4 and write-through cache
Afternoon
I upgraded our oss''s from 1.8.3 to 1.8.4 on Saturday (due to
https://bugzilla.lustre.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22755) and suffered a
great deal of pain.
We have 30 oss''s of multiple vintages. The basic difference between them is
* md on first 20 nodes
* 3ware 9650SE ML12 on last 10 nodes
After the upgrade to 1.8.4 we were seeing terrible throughput on the
nodes with

[PATCH] drm/nouveau/kms/nv50-: Don't allow inheritance of headless iors
Turns out we made a silly mistake when coming up with OR inheritance on
nouveau. On pre-DCB 4.1, iors are statically routed to output paths via the
DCB. On later generations iors are only routed to an output path if they're
actually being used. Unfortunately, it appears with NVIF_OUTP_INHERIT_V0 we
make the mistake of assuming the later is true on all generations, which is
currently leading us

[PATCH 0/5] drm/nouveau: add basic HDMI 2.0 support
This is the beginnings of HDMI 2.0 support. All of the "extra"
features are left out, such as 12/16bpc, YUV420, etc.
I've verified that with this code, a GP108 (GT1030) can switch between
4k at 60 and 1920x1080 at 60 on a LG 4K TV. Further, I've verified via i2c
tools, that the SCDC writes really do happen.
I suspect that the patch for keeping track of the high-speed TMDS

obdfilter/datafs-OST0000/recovery_status
I''m evaluating lustre. I''m trying what I think is a basic/simple
ethernet config. with MDT and OST on the same node. Can someone tell
me if the following (~150 second recovery occurring when small 190 GB
OST is re-mounted) is expected behavior or if I''m missing something?
I thought I would send this and continue with the eval while awaiting
a
response.

Lustre 1.0.2 packages available
Greetings--
Packages for Lustre 1.0.2 are now available in the usual place
http://www.clusterfs.com/download.html
This bug-fix release resolves a number of issues, of which a few are
user-visible:
- the default debug level is now a more reasonable production value
- zero-copy TCP is now enabled by default, if your hardware supports it
- you should encounter fewer allocation failures

Unable to join Windows 2k AD NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
I am having horrendous issues with trying to get Samba 3.0.4 to join to
a Windows 2000 AD (patched to current). As this one is hurting a bit
and needs to be fixed soon, I was hoping I may find salvation in this
list from someone here who may be able to shed some useful light on this
issue. I am using the latest gentoo mit-krb5 build.
Net join always results in NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED - this

I appear to be attacking others
It looks like my CentOS 4.2 box is attacking other people with some type
of ftp attack. I got an email from somebody saying they were being
attacked by my IP address.
Further investigation /var/log/messages shows a whole bunch of sshd
attacks on me, none of which appear successful. I'm running ethereal
right now and I can see that my system is doing some kind of ftp attacks
on others.

Lost OSTs, remounted, now /proc/fs/lustre/obdfilter/$UUID/ is empty
Hello,
We had a problem with our disk controller that required a reboot. 2 of
our OSTs remounted and went through the recovery window but clients
hang trying to access them. Also /proc/fs/lustre/obdfilter/$UUID/ is
empty for that OST UUID.

[PATCH 2/2] drm/nouveau/kms: Add INHERIT ioctl to nvkm/nvif for reading IOR state
Now that we're supporting things like Ada and the GSP, there's situations
where we really need to actually know the display state that we're starting
with when loading the driver in order to prevent breaking GSP expectations.
The first step in doing this is making it so that we can read the current
state of IORs from nvkm in DRM, so that we can fill in said into into the
atomic state.

How To change server recovery timeout
Hi,
Our lustre environment is:
2.6.9-55.0.9.EL_lustre.1.6.3smp
I would like to change recovery timeout from default value 250s to
something longer
I tried example from manual:
set_timeout <secs> Sets the timeout (obd_timeout) for a server
to wait before failing recovery.
We performed that experiment on our test lustre installation with one
OST.
