A couple of problems with scale plugin
I'd like to point out a couple of problems regarding the scale plugin: I
use it showing the application emblem on the lower right corner, and
with the shiver focus effect and sloppy focus activated.
Well, whenever you select a window (either through the keyboard or
sloppy focus) the app emblem gets smaller for a second and moves to the
center of the window, then returns to its expected size

[PATCHES] Fixes for java apps and firefox in scale, switcher and wobbly
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
I've made these patches that basically, make the java apps and firefox
items well being recognized by some compiz plugins (scale, switcher
and wobbly), I don't know if those can be considered workaround, but
this helps in using your desktop tools.
Basically java apps are seen as:
* name=sun-awt-X11-XFramePeer (default windows = Normal)

Wobbly settings
I have created a patch to wobbly that gives you friction and spring_k
settings for each effect type. It seems to be very popular.

Wobbly jerkyness
About a month ago, David made a commit to wobbly to the spring engine which
has introduced some bugs. They are hard to explain so bear with me.
In a sense, the wobbly plugin does not seem as smooth as it used to be and
the windows jerk all over the place. For example, I sometimes notice that
when I move a large window (around 2/3 of the size of the desktop window),
If I moved it down, the top of

Patch to wobbly snap for outputs
Here's a patch to wobbly.c to handle edge snapping with multiple outputs...
Also, I tweaked the window edge snapping to include dock window types, to
support the case where dock windows may be on the inner edges of multiple
monitors (and thus currently ignored as struts in the output workarea setup).
I personally think we should include these "inner" struts when calculating the

Help with Wine 1.1.21
Hi I'm new to Wine, and just downloaded version 1.1.21 and been trying to get something that I could use to run Adobe CS3 setup, but so far I have had no such luck with Wine. I followed the readme, but didn't get anything helpful, so I'm hoping that theres anyone out there that want to help or else I would be forced o go back to Windows *shiver* and admit my defeat to my boss, please

nautilus problem and smbclient question
Hi,
I'm having a problem getting smb to work through Nautilus and in trying to
diagnose the problem, I ended up with another problem with smbclient(1),
or more likely a misunderstanding on my part about how it is supposed to
work. I'm using the following packages on an up2date RH8.0 box.
# rpm -qa | grep samba
samba-common-2.2.7-2
samba-2.2.7-2
samba-client-2.2.7-2
# rpm -qa | grep

Print only server
I currently have a 95% Novell Network network that continues to have
constant printing issues. Enough Novell bashing, here lies the problem.
I am trying to migrate all of our printers over to a samba print server,
but in several of my tests I have come up with problems. I will attach
my smb.conf at the end for those of you that wish to see it.
I am using lprng as the printing backend because all

Problem compiling cairo-dock under CentOS 5.2
I am trying to compile cairo-dock from source (failing to find an existing
package for CentOS). I believe all dependencies are satisfied, but while
doing "make", at some point it says (I can provide the full make output if
it's needed):
gcc -g -O2 -o cairo-dock -Wl,--export-dynamic
cairo_dock-cairo-dock-callbacks.o cairo_dock-cairo-dock.o

persistent window wobble at screen edges
Hi,
This is a bug of sorts, relatively minor.
When clicking on the title bar of a window and moving the mouse slightly,
there will be a wobble that seems to propagate in coordination with window
snapping which results in a feedback cycle. I'm sure other people have
experienced this. 3 others in the Ubuntu channel last night knew what I was
talking about. Is there any way to resolve this? A

[PATCH]Make wobbly's bezier patch to work with grids that aren't 4x4.
Hi,
Recently, I started taking a look at wobbly's source (I was interested
in it's physics... ;-))
I noticed that GRID_WIDTH and GRID_HEIGHT were defined to be 4, and I
wanted to see how the physics look like with grid sizes that aren't
4x4.
I changed the defines to my new grid size, but unfortunately it didn't work.
I investigated this "bug" (it's not exactly a bug

Plugins
Here are a few plugins I wrote.
The put plugins gives you bindings to move windows around.
I set it up so the numeric keypad is like the area of the screen.
So <Super>KP_Home will move the window to the top left, etc ...
It also does viewport moves which is handy when used with the plane
plugin. I like the plane plugin in a 3x3 matrix matching the keypad, so
with the keypad and some

RFC: Pass Execution Instrumentation interface
Care to expand a bit on what you mean by per-optimization level? Preferably with a use case.
To me optbisect is a low level developer tool and it doesn't cope well with a crude user level hammer of optimization level.

install.packages hangs RGui with frozen rpwd process at bottom of process tree (PR#13734)
Full_Name: Allan Stokes
Version: 2.8.1
OS: XP
Submission from: (NULL) (24.108.0.245)
I've just spent a hellish six hours trying to create my own R package with a
bare bones "hello world" R function inside. I was able to create a
package.tar.gz file eventually with much perseverance.
My remaining problem is that when I try to install my simple package under RGui,
it hangs.
