Phonetic symbols (IPA) in R graphics
Hi all, I would like to add phonetic symbols in my figures. Usually I typeset my documents in LaTeX and I use the tipa [1] package to get International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) fonts. So, my problem would be solved if I could insert LaTeX commands in the text() function (I guess at least). I would like to avoid using psfrag (that is, inserting a string in the eps figure and then substituting it

wish: postscript-device - LaTeX ec-fonts (PR#1322)
Full_Name: Christof Boeckler Version: 1.4.1 OS: linux 2.4, x86 Submission from: (NULL) (217.233.100.207) Hello R-gurus, I have a little contribution to the wishlist: Since (?) I am using the more recent ec-font-family with LaTeX instead of the original cm-family, I did not manage to use this new feature about using (TeX's) cm-fonts for PS-output. I got the following errors when trying to

postscript()
I am using RedHat 6.1, the R1.1.0 binary download, and an HP Deskjet 692C. For some time I have been trying unsuccessfully to integrate R postscript graphics in LaTex. I consulted the Bug Tracking System. In the preamble of the LaTex file (test.tex) I have placed the line \usepackage{graphicx,color} and I use \begin{figure}[htbp] \begin{center} \includegraphics[height=4in]{graphic1.ps}

Problems with "help(topic,offline=T)"
Hello everybody, since I installed R-0.90.0 (Linux 2.0.25) I have problems with generating printable output with 'help()'. Default output to the terminal ('echo $PAGER' gives 'less') works o.k.. When invoking 'help(topic,offline=T)' all the usual procedures seem to start: 'top' reports invocation of latex as well as of dvips. But after finishing there is

Custom Print Command
I'm trying to setup my public printers to do 4 pages per sheet, and am having nothing but problems making it work. The system is a Redhat 4.2 box running Samba 1.9.18p4, and the printers are postscript capable HP 4000 and 8000 machines. Using Redhat's printtool to set 4 page per sheet output works when printing via lpr, but as soon as I print from a Win95 box through samba, it's

How to put 2 or more graphics in the same page ?
Hi, I have a naive question... I have produced about 60 graphics and want to put them in one postscipt file , possibly 4 graphics on each page. I can put all of them in the same file (that's ok), but I can't find the way to put 2 or more (precisely 4, in my case) graphics on the same page (each graphics is about 6 inches (width) X 4 inches (height)). Any help would be very much

Problems with Sweave and pdf.options(encoding="ISOLatin7") (PR#13234)
Hi, Sweave for some reason does not respect encoding setting in pdf.options. Everything is OK with ps.options. Thus when using non-default encoding for graphs, resulting graphics eps file is correct, but pdf file is not. Workaround is very simple, just use latex->dvips->ps2pdf chain to get the intended pdf document. I tried to find the explanation for this, but I did not find anything. If

What repo did this rpm come from? rpm-VVa failures on new install
Here is a list of files that I have not (knowingly) modified that do not pass rpm verification immediately after I installed centos 5.3. I am not really sure what this means - are the packagers sending out sloppy rpms, or is something going around modifying stuff? Other than the texmf stuff, the list seems to consist entirely of config files. Does yum or rpm or something do some instant

lattice graphics empty in Sweave
Hello, I have problems using lattice graphics together with Sweave under Windows XP and R 2.0.0; 2.0.1 Patched; 2.1.0 devel respectively. Base graphics are o.k., but for lattice graphics empty files (.eps and .pdf) are generated. The only workaround I found was to write and read the respective figures explicitely using postscript() and includegraphics{}. Have I missed something to solve this

R-Latex question
Hi, maybe my question is not typical. I want to make R table-kind output to be readable immediately in Latex but I am struggling with symbol '\' needed for instance in '\hline'. For example when 'Table' is a matrix class object: cat("&",Table[1,1], "&",Table[1,2], "\n");flush.console() cat("\hline \n");flush.console()

Created a DVD from Gnome Desktop -CentOS-5.3
I am trying to put the dvd iso image of CentOS-5.4 onto a DVD. I have an LG multi-writer installed. I have used this device on this host to created CDs in the past but this is my first attempt at creating a dvd. When I put a blank DVD-R media in the drive then I see a desktop icon for "CD-ROM Disc" created. When I open the bittorent folder and click on the iso image

Installing texlive dependencies
Hello ALL! I am running Fedora 16 x86_64. Due to some dubious problems, that i couldn't resolve, with the TeXLive (2007, which is a default), I removed it. That removed R as well, and some other dependent packages. Then, I installed TeXLive 2011 from CTAN. However, when I wanted to install R, from Fedora's repositories, it asks for some TeX dependencies (for example, tex-preview,

tiny bug in R installation (redhat)
First, let me join the chorus of praise for R. (Hey, isn't somebody going to analyse all these praise emails in some statistical way?) I'm writing to point out an error in the file permissions in the linux/redhat version. (I'm using R-base-1.0.0-1.i386.rpm, by the way.) The permissions in /usr/lib/R/doc/html aren't correct, since 'function.html' and

rpm build difference?
I noticed a strange thing on my CentOS 4 workstations today. Immediately after installing the tetex suite (tetex-xdvi tetex-dvips tetex tetex-latex tetex-afm tetex-fonts), "rpm -V tetex" reports some package inconsistencies: rpm -V tetex ........C /usr/bin/amstex ........C /usr/bin/bamstex ........C /usr/bin/bplain ........C /usr/bin/lambda ........C
