Madwifi just seems to work in Centos 5
I have not installed the madwifi specific kernel stuff (kdml and hal-kdml) from atrpms. I have installed with wpa rpms. And my Atheros card is working with almost no work on my part (other than runing wpa_supplicant as a deamon). Nice!

Can we get a newer version of madwifi on rpmforge?
RPMforge still has: rpmForge: madwifi-0.9.2.1-2.el5.rf.i386.rpm ATrpms has: madwifi-0.9.4-38_r2512.fc6.i386.rpm but requires their patched kernel. I am at IETF this week, and was at IEEE 802 last week. There are over 60 visible access points in most locations (actually not that may APs, but an SSID for b/g, another for a, another for 802.1x TKIP, another for 802.1x CCMP, argh!) and I

madwifi on Centos 5.2, kernel 2.6.18-92.1.6.el5
Hello, I just installed Centos 5.2 on my wife's IBM thinkpad T41 with Atheros wireless. It looks like I need to install madwifi to get the wireless to work. Our home wireless network uses WPA2 I found the EL5 rpms at atrpms, but there is no madwifi-kmdl rpms for kernel 2.6.18-92.1.6.el5. So, to get the wireless working on my home network, what's the shortest path from here? Install

I have this old memory that the kernels used are a hodge podge of backports etc. So for a kernel-smp-2.6.9-55.0.9.EL should I use 0.4.10? Quoted from http://ivtvdriver.org/index.php/Download: The latest stable releases can be found here. Currently this is version 0.4.10 for kernels <= 2.6.15, version 0.6.7 for kernel 2.6.16, version 0.7.4 for kernel 2.6.17, version 0.10.6 for kernels >=

Linux on a Thinkpad R40
I've just acquired a use IBM Thinkpad R40 model 2722-GDM. I'm contemplating what to run on it, and longer-term the likely candidates are: Centos 5 SLE{D,S} 10 OpenSUSE 10.2 Kubuntu - the latest. Kubuntu - Long Life (aka 6.04, Dapper, ...) I've booted Knoppix 4 in it and most seems well, including the Atheros Wireless card Windows can't find. The major flies in the

FW: zaptel 1.4.0 on Fedora Core 6 x86_64
I tried to test Asterisk 1.4 on FC6 x86_64. I have it working on FC5 x86_64 very good, but since FC keeps updating, I tried to follow newer kernel versions. I can't pass the zaptel compilation. Everything is OK, but when I finished, and tried to load it, allways got module not found when I run modprobe zaptel, and modprobe ztdummy. I already tried to modify is with the sed 1 option but

Problem with building dahdi-linux RPM
Hello folks. First of all, sorry for my English :-) I want to build dahdi-2.0.0 rpm from source (i have to use this version, because OpenVox A1200p driver works only with it). I've made some changes in .spec file (added one patch and one source section) and trying to build rpm: rpmbuild --define with-udev -bb SPECS/dahdi-linux.spec Executing(%prep): /bin/sh -e /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.86801 +

Suspend2 rpm for Centos 4.5 and 5.0?
Is there a source for Suspend2 available as an rpm for Centos 4.5 and/or 5.0? And to use it would it be necessary to recompile the kernel?

* 1.4 -> 1.6, zaptel -> dahdi
This has got to be an FAQ, so if someone can point me to where it is answered, I would be greatly appreciated. The documentation for all this stuff is scattered and (to me at least) either very sketchy or hard to find. What I want is a guide for how to convert from 1.4 with zaptel to 1.6 with dahdi. All the recent kernel vulnerabilities are forcing me to upgrade my home server from

atrpms nvidia cannot load
Hi guys - brand new 5.1 install here and quite happy - but... The nv driver did not work at all for me, fritzy stripes and dots. This is a GeForce 7300 LE which was working happily dual-head under FC6 with the livna nvidia RPMs So I looked around and it seemed like the ATRpms repo via yum was the best option for CentOS. This is what I installed, it worked great with the xorg.conf from the

CentOS and Atheros
What's the easiest path to having my Atheros wireless cards supported, particularly in C5? In the past, I've chosen to download source and build my own, but that's become a little tiresome. At one point, OpenSUSE was the easy option, but since 10.1 it's dropped madwifi. -- Cheers John -- spambait 1aaaaaaa at coco.merseine.nu Z1aaaaaaa at coco.merseine.nu Please do not

wifi cluelessness
The nice folks at work have just provided me with a new, really spiffy, ThinkPad. So, I''m trying to get wireless working under CentOS4 and I''m having trouble. First, I can''t seem to find any rpms to just install (this would be really nice). And, second, when I try to build it from the src.rpm that I pulled from the atrpms repository with "rpmbuild --recompile

Centos 5 - Setting up yum for ATrpms
I think I found one of my setup problems. I followed instructions at: http://atrpms.net/install.html And now I see that the information shown there to put into yum.conf (that I put into yum.repo.d/atrpms.repo) is only for FC, not for RL5 (thus Centos 5). What do I use in my atrmps.repo to get it to access the RL5 directories?

What ever happened to the dkms atheros drivers/
My OQO boxes have the AR5413 wifi chipset, so for the first time in quite a while, I again need to run madwifi. So I went looking for the dkms madwifi rpms, but could not find them. They use to be on rpmforge, as I recall. dkms is there. So have I lost some memory cells or have these rpms taken a hike?

rc15 in FC6
Hi, just a note that FC6 now has the very latest of dovecot as an official update. :) It will upgrade the atrpms packages automatically to the official vendor version, there is nothing you need to take care of. -- Axel.Thimm at ATrpms.net -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Anyone using fuse and/or sshfs under Centos 4.4?
Hi A search of google failed to show any prebuilt rpms for sshfs and fuse. I do see that fuse support is in 2.6.14 kernel which isn't a whole lot of help. Before I dive headlong into this has anyone successfully built fuse/sshfs against Centos 4.4. If so would you share your experience? Thanks Daveh

dovecot lda & sieve: resubmit folder for resieving
Hi, I'm currently restructuring my mail archives and migrated from a decade and a half old procmail supported solution to sieve. While doing so I often found that I'd like to filter a bunch of messages (with "bunch" in the area of 1-10K) with my shiny new sieve script. I found in the wiki a way to do that: http://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/RefilterMail And it works well, it picks
