Looking for input
Hey All,
First off, congratulations to David and the others who worked on the 0.3.4
release and Happy Thanksgiving!
There's been some discussion in the forum on the design and functionality of
the compiz website and I'd like to get the opinion of David and any others
who have an interest in this topic.
My first question is to David. You indicated that you were interested in

custom shortcuts
I'm trying to define my long time keyboard shortcuts in compiz on a new
FC6 system with gnome. I want <Alt>n to run a shell and <Shift><Alt>p for
pan. In metacity I could set the shell shortcut from
System->Preferences->keyboard shortcuts, and for something like pan (which
was not in the menu) I could do it in gconf-editor (apps->metacity, etc.).

developer documentation work
Hi all!
I'm currently working with Compiz and as part of that I'm trying to create
more developer documentation, as I think that's important in inviting
both new explorers and bug patches to the project.
I've started an overview document to go in addition to any existing code
examples. It's currently available at

Compiling Compiz
I have downloaded compiz-0.2.0 and tried to compile it. The INSTALL file talks about autgen.sh, but I am unable to
locate it. I tried ./configure but it complains about a number of missing packages. Is there any docs on how to compile
compiz on SLED 10 ? I have searched in a lot of places, but have not been able to dig up anything. A detailed list of
what packages is required (and where to locate

the notorious "GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is missing" error
I'm not reporting a bug (I know it's not the right place to do that
anyway), but a little help would be appreciated.
Once again I run into the famous "compiz: GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is
missing" error. The problem is I can't figure out what's wrong.
I use fedora core 6 on an athlon XP with an ati RV250 and the radeon

Compiz and Beryl are Reuniting
After several weeks of discussion the leaders of Compiz and Beryl have agreed
that the two communities shall reunite. This decision is supported by both
David and Quinn and represents the majority decision of the administrators
and developers in each community. At this early stage not a lot has been
decided, but these are the main points of the agreement:

CompComm has a real name!
Our previous attempts to select a project name for CompComm have not gone
well. We tried a poll but the names in the poll were not pre-qualified to
determine if they were usable and the ?winning? name was also a strongly
disliked name. Kristian and I each proposed a plan to select a name, but that
effort got sidetracked by a massive flame war on the mailing list.
While our community has some

Wiki page updated
The wiki page now contains some updated information about Compiz:
http://freedesktop.org/Software/Compiz
While I think the idea to create a more designed and visual web presence
targeted to users and new people is great, I also think nothing beats a
wiki as a collection of informal and up-to-date developer documentation.
Ideally, everyone would update the wiki page just like they send

Java wrapper?
Hi,
a few months ago it has already been discussed, but without final
solution it seems...
Is there anybody who is working on a Java JNI wrapper for libvorbis
etc.?
Greetings
k.j.

SSH not responding.
SSH doesn't seem to be responding to me.
The machine I am connecting to is running Linux,
and I could connect to it fine from windows
running the SSH client. But now I can no longer
connect. From Linux, this is the output:

Compiz Community
Hello,
I'm new to compiz and to this list but I'd like to contribute. I couldn't find
a more appropriate place to ask a few questions about the compiz project
(which is actually my first question).
1. Since the apparent compiz/beryl fork I don't see a compiz "community" site.
Is there one?
2. Is compiz going to continue to be developed, and if so, is there a road

tsdiag() titles
I am using the ts package to fit ARIMA models, and the tsdiag() function to
plot diagnostics. In doing so I'm generating an awful lot of diagnostic
plots of different models and different data sets all within the same R
session. So my question is, is there an option in tsdiag() similar to
<main="Title"> that I can use? This would be quite helpful when I print out
the plots,

I have for every VM in "xm top" a Net1 item. And there is a lot of drops on these packets.

get top 50 correlated item from a correlation matrix for each item
Hi,
I have a correlation matrix of about 3000 items, i.e., a 3000*3000
matrix. For each of the 3000 items, I want to get the top 50 items that
have the highest correlation with it (excluding itself) and generate a
data frame with 3 columns like ("ID", "ID2", "cor"), where ID is those
3000 items each repeat 50 times, and ID2 is the top 50 correlated items
with ID,

Rails 3: perform controller action upon selecting menu item (UJS?)
In Rails 3, I have a form that has a menu on it. I would like to
render an area containing text fields within the form differently
depending on what''s selected in the menu.
Prior to Rails 3, one way it appears I could do this is by using
observe_field on the menu and call an action in my controller that
renders the appropriate partial which could then be swapped into a div
in my form.

Question on Confbridge menu item dialplan_exec
I like the example of using that to add somebody to the conference, but
what I don't see is how the dialplan can know what conference the menu
item was called from. I was hoping that some variable might have been set,
but don't see it in the sources. Is the idea to do that outside of the
call to Confbridge?

menu timeout restarted with single item (4.06-pre14)
Hi,
The menu timeout isn't cancelled but restarted when there's only a
single item in the menu and I try to move the selection. The selection
flashes but of course does not move. Tested with pxelinux under QEMU:
$ qemu -net nic -boot n -net user,tftp=tftpboot,bootfile=/pxelinux.0
pxelinux.cfg/default:
UI menu.c32
TIMEOUT 100
LABEL single
KERNEL blah
