I have tried xbindkeys but depending on which app is running I may or

extras and vlc
What are the chances that a package such as vlc from http://videolan.org/vlc
would become included in extras? so a yum install vlc would work.

vncserver on CentOS 7
I am trying to setup a centos 7.1 vncserver
I cannot believe they went from a relatively easy process in 6 to the
"crazyness" that is 7.
I did the following:
yum install tigervnc-server
cp /lib/systemd/system/vncserver at .service
/etc/systemd/system
systemctl daemon-reload
edit /etc/systemd.system/vncserver at .service

Hi all. I am looking for some command line programs (pre made)
that will connect to an ldap server and list out the users in question
provided by the search argument given.
I found some mention of it from oracle but I did not see where they can

Is something like this available and I just havent found them?
Thanks,

RH9 to centos 5 386
I am testing the likelyhood of updating a couple RH9 systems to centos 5
386.
I found at document that talked about updating to centos 4. steps being:

2.)
rpm --import

rpm -Uvh --nodeps

yum update did not complete
I was doing a yum update today.
It downloaded all the packages.
was doing the next part and my remote connection was lost.
so ssh session was killed.
When I logged back in I am not sure if the update is done or not. I
presume not.
I presume it died with my remote session.
I do a yum update now and it returns as if there is nothing to update.
last I saw it was 30 out of 312 in the installation

special tricks for developers box on centos 5
I was just wondering if there are special tricks people do
that compile A LOT on centos? Do RAM disks help or something else I dont
about that minimizes your compile time? I presently have and AMD x2
4800+ with 2GIG ram.
Just curious if I can reduce any more time out of my compiles.

local repo
Hi all,
When I am installing I use kickstart and have a line like:
repo --name=Updates
--baseurl=http://192.168.1.14/centos/5.6/updates/x86_64/
and that works great for installing the OS.
After that the machine reboots and I have it automatically go into
additional installations running scripts.
These installations do "yum install XXX".
However, its no longer using my above repo
