[BUG] No shadows on panel/menus unless shadow_radius is a multiple of 5
Greetings to everybody,
After erasing any previous compiz configuration, I recently installed
Compiz 0.5.0, compiling it from the official tarball and I must say the
whole experience is a bit smoother without the cruft of my past
experiments and (mis)configurations.
I had one problem though: no shadows on gnome-panel and menus, switching
back to 0.4 didn't help. Then I found this old thread

Shade and minimize to notification area.
Hi,
Thanks for all the great work on compiz, you guys have been great, the shade
function works wonderfuly.
There's a minor, or not so minor, thing I noticed, if I try to shade an
application which minimizes to systray, it shades until it leaves a
titlebar-sized artifact on the screen, then I can only activate it again
after clicking the notification area icon again.
Best regards,
Diogo

update on xdevconf07 and beryl situation
I'd like to get all of you updated on the compiz related things
discussed at the X developer conference that was held last week.
The slides I used for my talk are available from here:
http://people.freedesktop.org/~davidr/xdevconf07/
and you can also find some notes from all talks here:

No window decorations with latest CVS/window shading
If I update to the latest CVS, my window decorations disappear. I'm running
Gnome 2.15.2 under Gentoo, so it's possible this is some interaction with
the newest gtk+ or other Gnome libraries. Gnome-window-decorator is running
and the decoration plugin is loaded.
I first had this problem with the latest quinnstorm, so I switched to the
latest CVS for fdo compiz, removing

compiz-scheme. Interactive prompt and example startup file.
Beyond the general work on compiz-scheme (new wrappings, hooks, code
improvements, etc), I've added a few large new things:
1. Key bindings with modifiers. This lets you from any of your scheme
files/interactive prompt bind an arbitrary key + modifier to an
arbitrary scheme function. So you can define new Compiz behaviors and
shortcuts on the fly.
2. An interactive prompt. This sets up a

Scheme extension language plugin.
I've put a scheme plugin in users/racarr/compiz-scheme on
gitweb.open-compositing.org.
Essentially it allows the user to define a startup file
(~/.compiz/startup.scm) and fill it with scheme code to do neat things
and extend Beryl.
On one hand it acts like a super powered state plugin, on the other it
lets you define useful behavior specific to what you do with your
Compiz and share these

Focus problem for shaded windows
Hi,
today, I noticed a problem in focus handling for shaded windows which is
pretty easy to reproduce:
- Disable "Click to focus"
- Shade a window
- Hover another window
- Hover back to the window frame of the shaded window
- Press Ctrl+Alt+S
Expected behaviour would be that the shaded window is unshaded. What
happens is that the last active window is shaded.
I investigated this a

Problem with decorator and edges
Hi,
I've just started using Compiz. I'm running Debian testing on a
HP/Compaq nc4400 laptop, and I've installed Compiz from the exprimental
repository, 0.3.6 I believe, since the 0.2.2 in testing was rather old.
In general I have very few problems, besides having to change my ways of
working due to a radically different interface :-)
I did run into one thing I don't quite

Decoration manager questions
Im trying to write a Windowmaker look-a-like decorator to compiz, tho, im
not really sure im doing it the right way, The way im doing it right now is
telling libdecorator that i?m interested in becoming the "manager" of the
current screen. Then i select the StructureNotify events on the root window
and try to snoop out when a new window is created and mapped, and then
reparent it onto my

road map
1. The first thing I like to do is push out a 0.3.4 release. (This week)
2. Some important changes to how plugins do window animations needs to
be done. There's currently one representation of each window and plugins
do simple animations like move and scale by manipulating this window
object. This can easily cause conflicts between plugins and a lot of
care needs to be taken to make sure that

Re: compiz Digest, Vol 4, Issue 3
Bumping this up...compiz.net is evidence that the window shade is a
priority. I am agreeing with this. Thanks for all of your hard work
guys. I wiggle a window in your honor. I'm sure there' s more to come,
and I'm sure you'll get window shading done when you have the time.
Honestly, I don't know really where you get it.

Compiz Fusion Release 0.5.2 is out!
This is the first development release of Compiz Fusion, the result of more
than six months of work and polish. The first stable release, 0.6.0, will
follow after the Compiz 0.6.0 release.
Compiz Fusion is the result of a merge between the Compiz community plugin
set "Compiz Extras" and the parts of the Beryl project that are independent

feature request
Hi, i'm very new to this mailing list stuff, so I'm sorry if I screwed
it up and sent this wrong, or whatever... I just wanted to bump up the
priority for the window shade code development. I would really like to
have window shading in compiz. Just wanted you to know that another
person wants it! Thanks!

Window shading
Hi all.
New to the list, so my apologies, if I am out of line.
I was told, that window shading (rolling them up into the title bar) is
on the TODO-list. As I normally rely heavily on this feature, I just
wondered which priority it has, i.e. when I can expect it. I rely solely
on your kindness for this, as I am neither versed in C nor graphical
effects, and thus cannot provide code of my own.
