rubyzip with Ruby 1.9.2 and Rails 3.1 - require 'zip/zip' fails
I''m trying to move my application from Rails 2.3.5 to Rails 3.1 which is a challenge. In my application, require ''zip/zip'' fails with ''no such file to load -- zip/zip gem list --local shows rubyzip (0.9.4) I see zip.rb in d:\ruby192\lib\ruby\gems\1.9.1\gems\rubyzip-0.9.4\lib\zip\ -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/. -- You received this message

RubyZip Exceptions
Hi, I am wondering if there is a way of catching exceptions that are thrown within rubyzip.rb. For example: in rubyzip line 583, private def set_time(binaryDosDate, binaryDosTime) @time = Time.parse_binary_dos_format(binaryDosDate, binaryDosTime) rescue ArgumentError puts "Invalid date/time in zip entry" end I need to be able to ''catch'' the

Curious about new (ActiveRecord::Base)
Because the documentation isn''t clear (at least to me)... I have a Logfile model that has corresponding fields in MySql. The main ones are id, fileName, and content type. However, I can pass a File object to a new Logfile and have handlers that I created in the Logfile class extract the data. However, the documentation states "...you can?t have attributes that aren?t part of

Stream rubyzip
I have a Rails app that needs to create a Zip archive of a folder and send it to the client''s browser for download. I have no need for the Zip file on disk, so ideally, the Zip is created and streamed "on the fly". Is this possible? If not, I''ll create a temp file and send that via xsendfile, but I''d rather avoid the extra (unnecessary) step if I could. --

How can I access a ZIP file that's over 2Gb?
I have a zip file. It is over 2Gb in size: -rw-r--r-- 1 sweh sweh 2383956582 Mar 13 13:44 test.zip The standard "unzip" program barfs: % unzip -l test.zip Archive: test.zip End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the latter case the central directory and zipfile comment

zip.file.extract on Windows
Hello R-help! I just wanted to share a tip might help others of us stuck on R. The documentation for zip.file.extract is rather scant, and a few examples would. When using zip.file.extract, the first argument should be the full (or relative) path and the second the name of the zip file, it seems. While this is counterintuitive to me, that it should get the part from the first argument,

I just installed Wine into Ubuntu 10.4, from Ubuntu's Software Center (the installation instructions at WineHQ didn't work). I've tried installing a couple of Windows programs from CD (a set of clip art images from Nova Development Corp, and Willmaker Plus from Intuit). Every executable I've tried generates the following standard error message: Archive:

My WINE won't go to work
I still can't seem to figure out Wine and how it works. I tried again to get Brainfuse Quick Connect working last night and had the notion that perhaps I need to get Explorer up and running. I've tried everything I know to get that file in Other to run but nothing is happening. I did get a lengthy error message. [/home/ken/.wine/dosdevices/c:/windows/explorer.exe]

Wine fails to install Adobe PS
I have tried a few rtimes now to install Abobe PS7 (not a crack) on the latest Linux Mint and now on Ubuntu 8.10 64bit. I am having the same problem in both. Is it because my new comp is a 64bit? Making @headers[''Refresh''] and send_file work together?
I''ve got a Rails 1.1 app where people can click a link to download a custom-generated file. The link to "Download Zip" goes to / controller/get_zip. Can't get wine to run any programs: included error message.
Okay I just installed the latest ver of Ubuntu and then installed the beta ver of Wine because the non-beta told me that it wouldn't install on AMD x 64 type computers. So I just installed the beta Wine version and I can't get any programs to run at all using wine. I also am having many pages on this forum stalling out, so i tried to read the user manual but i am not able to load it.
