Horizontally maximized window on last viewport
Hi,
I posted this on the forum as well, but there were no responses to it. I
now posting it here just in case anybody cares.
Anyway, Compiz is a very nice program. Thanks for all the effort you put
into making it.
I am using the latest git version of compiz and it really works great
for being an "unstable" version.
Anyway, I noticed the following strange behavior and was wondering

Dissappearing gnome terminal contents
Hi.
I was not able to find any notice of this issue in either the forums or
bugzilla (http://bugs.opencompositing.org/) (is that still used btw) so
I am posting it here in the hope that it is useful to someone.
I am using gentoo and gnome 2.20 and the compiz version from git
sources.
When I maximize (vertically, horizontally, both) a gnome-terminal
window the contents of the terminal window

0.4 release
I'd like to get a 0.4 release out sometime soon. I created a compiz-0.4
branch some time ago and I've been cherry picking changes from master
that I think should go into the 0.4 release.
I think the current state of the 0.4 branch is pretty good and I'd like
to just get the release out asap so we can focus on moving on. If anyone
got fixes or bugs that they like to see fixed let us

Scale-plugin for ALL running Aplications
I have just switched from Beryl to compiz, as it seems to be much more
stable. The only think, that I'm missing is, that scale just shows the
open applications of the current viewport instead of all on all
viewports. Is there an option in gconf I can tick to enable this or is
it simply not implemented ans only a hack in beryl-scale?

switch metacity->compiz (compiz ignores its own settings)
I have configured compiz to use 1 workspace and 4 viewports and metacity
to use 4 workspaces.
When I start compiz while metacity was running it uses 4 workspaces and
4 viewports (ignoring the gconf settings).
When I restart X so that compiz is started before metacity this does not
happen (it uses what its configured for).
bug or feature?
if feature can it be disabled?

Games 'dissappear' after installing in wine...
Heya,
I'm new to these forums and fairly new to linux and wine. I'm having some trouble with some computer games I'm trying to run under wine. The games are:
Call of Duty 5 World at War
Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare
Alien Versus Predator
I managed to install Call of Duty 5 and AvP without errors, however I can't run them. They don't appear in the wine menu or the games menu.

Wine and multiple X screens at different resolutions
Hello! I am a great fan of wine, and find it gets better every day. However, there is one problem that is almost make or break for me that I wonder is something just on my end or a genuine bug. I represent a small subset of wine users: those who have two LCD screens at different aspect ratios. I have a 20 inch 4:3 LCD at 1280x1024 and a 22 widescreen LCD at 1680x1050.

EZoom and system freeze
Hi
I used the enhanced zoom functionality quite often. However, recently I
have run into a somewhat annoying bug (I suppose it's a bug somewhere).
If I zoom out to the level of no zoom using the mouse wheel, my system
sort of hangs. I can move the pointer, but there's no interaction with
anything (i.e. the mouse pointer does not change) and my only option is
to turn of my laptop by

bug in today's git snapshot with maximizing windows
Hi David,
When maximizing windows on a different resolution only 70% of the window is maximized.
Ie: on my 1280x1024 screen a window maximized is correct (and does not clobber the desktop panel in KDE, kicker)
On my 1600x1200 screen, with no kicker panel, the window is maximized about 70% of the screen only
Is this known?
Thanks,
Shawn.

GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is missing
Hi,
I have a couple of problems with compiz and I would appreciate assistance.
I have compiled compiz version 02 successful however when I try to run compiz this is displayed in console /usr/bin/compiz: GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is missing
/usr/bin/compiz: Failed to manage screen: 0
/usr/bin/compiz: No manageable screens found on display :0.0. However when I run the glxinfo there is

[PATCH]Application-window switcher, and comments for switcher.c
As promised, here's a patch to switcher.c to add "Application window"
switching to the switcher, default keybinding Super+Tab (and
Shift+Super+Tab for reverse). Works (and fails to work*) in the same
conditions Scale's "group" mode does.
Also, two patches for doxygen-compatible comments for some of
switcher, which I added while working out what was going on. It

slow tint when tinting the whole screen
Hi,
I'm running ubuntu edgy with compiz, switched from gentoo to ubuntu
for faster updates (emerge is way slow with source builds..). So far, I
like it.
but that is not the issue I'm addressing now. I've noted that with
both these machines, when I'm doing something that tints the whole
screen to gray (like trying to logout, or using some software that
prompts for sudo

OOo opening maximized- how?
In Ubuntu 7.04 with KDE, I have problems with OpenOffice.org opening
in an unusual size, with half the application not visible on the
screen. I do not have this problem with other applications. I would
like OpenOffice to open in a maximized state, to prevent this problem.
How does one configure compiz to open OOo in a maximized state? If
it's possible, I would not mind configuring Compiz to

MACOSX - Open program window maximized everytime...
Hi all,
I've installed Wine on my Mac & I now have running a program called Tag&Rename, but unfortunately the window always opens in a smaller sized window & I have to everytime maximize the window, which I find bloody annoying.
I've looked in the USER.REG file for Tag&Rename's settings but I can't see any there that are relevant, and I've also looked at

Annoying gconf/ccsm behavior
Fedora 10 ships with compiz and launches it as: compiz
--ignore-desktop-hints glib gconf
This causes compiz to load the glib and gconf plugins at startup. This
works fine.
The problem arises when the gconf database does not include those
plugins in /apps/compiz/general/allscreens/options/active_plugins. What
happens is that the plugins get loaded at startup, and after all the
