Hi,
I have a couple of problems with compiz and I would appreciate assistance.
I have compiled compiz version 02 successful however when I try to run compiz
this is displayed in console /usr/bin/compiz: GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is
missing
/usr/bin/compiz: Failed to manage screen: 0
/usr/bin/compiz: No manageable screens found on display :0.0. However when I run
the glxinfo there is GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap. The card is Radeon 7500. I am
running Opensuse 10.1 with Xorg 7 downloaded from software.opensuse.org/xorg7
and the desktop is KDE. I have enabled AIGLX.
When I first upgraded to xorg 7 about a month ago I have tried to get compiz
working on AIGLX and have successfully managed to do it by using patches from
Krisitian.
So this time I did the same the patch that made 02 work on AIGLX is
http://people.freedesktop.org/~krh/compiz-on-aiglx/compiz-patches/02-tfp-server-extension.patch.
Is there are reason that this patch still has to be applied with the current
version of compiz or am I doing something wrong.
Once I got 02 working I noticed that its not fast as the .13 version that I
had installed a month ago however that could be because I am not starting compiz
correctly. I am starting compiz with this command ?compiz ?replace
--indirect-rendering --strict-binding gconf? Is this the correct way to start
compiz on AIGLX ?
I have noticed that there is a severe performance drop when I maximize a
window, all the plugins run very slow until I unmaximize the window than it
returns to normal.
One last problem that I am having with compiz is that the computer freezes
once the screensaver gets started and I press any button on the keyboard. Even
if a disable the kde screensaver there is an x screensaver that also gets
started automatically after a while and the computer freezes again if I press
any button on the keyboard. With kwin this does not happen. Is there anything
that I can do to fix this problem or find what is causing it.
Regards
Deni
