White boarders on size 32 shadows. Intel platform only
Recently, I brought up a topic about white boarders being drawn instead of shadows in Gnome-Window-Decorator. A patch was made up by gandalfn to correct this by making 32 pixel shadows 33 pixels, however the patch was not committed because it was a workaround. This is a huge functional annoyance to us intel users and needs to be cured. There are two soultions I can think of: 1 Get in contact

png(type='cairo'): point symbols without boarders are not anti-aliased?
Hi, It seems that anti-aliasing in png(type = 'cairo') is not well supported for the point symbols without boarders, e.g. pch = 16. The Cairo package works well, though. You can compare png() with CairoPNG(): png(): http://i.imgur.com/8niB3jX.png CairoPNG(): http://i.imgur.com/FZBJOxm.png f = function(dev, ..., main = '') { dev(...) plot(c(1, 2, 1, 2), c(1, 1, 2, 2),

reason for bad performance on i915 (AIGLX)
Greetings everybody! For about two weeks I'm now a happy owner of an intel-powered laptop (chipset, wifi, gfx) and wanted to give it a full test-drive of compiz and other GL-intensive programs. The laptop runs Xorg 7.1.1 and the i810 driver that comes with it (stock rpm from FC6). I'm forced to start compiz 0.3.4 with these options... --use-cow --strict-binding --indirect-rendering

ubuntu packages patch
hi, For compiz ubuntu packages, I made some patchs to have a behavior of compiz nearer to metacity. All patch are made for compiz-0.3.6 and they are more hacks or draft than good fix, i hope they can help. http://gandalfn.club.fr/ubuntu/compiz-patch/90-fix-no-border-window-shadow.patch This patch fix white boxes instead of shadows for gnome-panel and other non-standard windows on AiGLX.

Odd GTK-Window-Decorator bug
In the latest git compilation by gandalfn for his repositories, I receive an odd error regarding non-window items; but only under gtk-window-decorator. All non-window items (including panels, drop-down menus, etc.) have about a 10pixel "system color" stroke effect in place of the drop shadow, or what have you. This is experienced currently under Feisty Fawn testing, afaik. Latest

compiz on aiglx redux
Hi, I've revisited compiz on aiglx and at this point, if you're running rawhide (fedora development), it's a matter of installing the i386 RPM found here: http://people.redhat.com/krh/compiz/ There's a SRPM there too for other architectures, rebuild using rpmbuild --rebuild compiz-0.0.13.fedora1-3.src.rpm To run compiz, first start the gnome-window-decorator process in

No window decorator
Hi, With latest compiz updates i can't get gtk-window-decorator working. I add gwd gconf keys I saw in list archives : http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/compiz/2006-October/000627.html No success. I use this script to start compiz : killall gtk-window-decorator gtk-window-decorator & export __GL_YIELD="NOTHING"; compiz --replace --use-cow gconf & Compiz load but

AIGLX Support with nVidia 9625 Drivers
Hello, I'm on a Gentoo machine with the latest beta nVidia 9625 Drivers, trying to get Compiz to work with AIGLX... simply running 'compiz', or even with the addition of any options other than version, causes compiz to detect that it is indeed not XGL, and then segmentation faults... please note that I have only currently tried this with Compiz-Quinnstorm (the latest package available

Wobbly jerkyness
About a month ago, David made a commit to wobbly to the spring engine which has introduced some bugs. They are hard to explain so bear with me. In a sense, the wobbly plugin does not seem as smooth as it used to be and the windows jerk all over the place. For example, I sometimes notice that when I move a large window (around 2/3 of the size of the desktop window), If I moved it down, the top of

Release plans
Hi everyone. So I'd like to start with an update saying that we've hit a pretty big milestone in our 0.9.0 plans for world domination - that is that the last plugin, DBus, has finally been ported and works. [1] The code is currently undergoing review, and once some inconsistencies are fixed up, it looks set for inclusion into master. This means that along with this, a 2D GTK Window

Howto compile the kde decorator?
Hello, I own a NVidia GF488Go and therefor I tried to give aiglx+compiz a try, and it seems to work great - impressive :-) However the problem I experience is that I am unable to compile any of the "window decorators". I installed kde-devel libs + dependencies, gtk+-devel dependencies - however I don't have gnome nore gnome-develop packages installed and I build with gconf

Required versions and patches for compiz on AIGLX
Hi, I stopped using compiz a while back when some patches didn't apply to an upgrade I thought was more important than running compiz (IIRC it was xorg-server) but would like to get it working again. I'm using vanilla sources of the most recent stable releases of everything related to xorg/mesa. Compiz is configured with: --prefix=/usr \ --sysconfdir=/etc \ --disable-static \

Window title in bar doesn't change when application requests it
I'm running Compiz 0.3.1 (from gandalfn's repo), and when I change, say, tabs in Firefox, the title in the titlebar doesn't change. It does in the panel though, but that isn't the realm of Compiz. When running Metacity, I don't have this problem.

AIGLX problem
Hey everyone, I followed the guide InstallNouvea from the wiki. Installing the driver was a walk in the park. However, I do notice these lines in my Xorg.0.log: (EE) AIGLX error: dlopen of /usr/lib/dri/nouveau_dri.so failed (/usr/lib/dri/nouveau_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory) (EE) AIGLX: reverting to software rendering (II) Loading sub module
