Multihead related issues
First, there are two fundamentally diffrent types of doing multihead: The "one big screen" solution, usually achieved with xinerama , twinview or similar. This provides us with one Screen, and therefor one CompScreen structure. The output extens are retrieved from xinerama, or possibly randr (in the future?), I would assume. Then there is the less used "multiscreen" way, which

Minor fix to multi-head changes for mixed resolutions
Hey, David, for me the recent multihead changes had minor a problem with mixed resolutions (1600x1200 & 1280x1024). The viewport was getting set partially off screen. The following tweak fixed it for me: --- plugins/display.c +++ plugins/display.c @@ -2069,7 +2069,7 @@ eventLoop (void) { if (s->nOutputDev > 1)

Cisco 7960 x Asterisk CVS-HEAD-03/13/05 - registration issues
After fighting with a "Unable to create/find channel" [1] [2], I gave up on my previous installation and rebuild my asterisk from CVS-Head. I guess the Debian package available today is broken somewhere (after a previous broken release made with an old libpri package), but now I'm having another issue with my 7960 registration (SIP v. 7.1). The call is being (silent) rejected by

Xgl/Compiz - Kernel, ATI, Console, and Multihead problems still unresolved
I've been avidly updating mesa, xgl, and compiz, every week (from the portage-xgl overlay) hoping to solve some of these problems: * Using ati-drivers-8.29.6 xgl crashes complaining about lacking dri, so i'm using 8.27.10. * Using 2.6.18 kernels, the ati-drivers-8.27.10 don't compile when building the drm module. * My laptop automatically switchs to vt1 when init services fail

Using xen in multihead distributed setup
I''m new to xen and hope that this question is not too daft but I just need a short answer. Can I run say four servers within xen on one box with 4 video cards, where each server is tied to one of the video cards, so I have a view of applications running on the various servers concurrently. Problems with SIP invite due to long ping round trips
Hi, I'm installing asterisk 1.0.5 for a partner in China. Since the ping round trip takes typically 600 msec, I doubt, whether voice quality will we satisfying, but that is currently not my concern. The problem is, that most SIP phones or software (e.g. SJPhone) do resend the invite request, after approx 500 msec (measured by ethereal). chan_sip from asterisk seems to have a special

Zoom plugin changes
I'm sorry for being rude, but I am quite upset by this, because it has gone too far. I posted a few weeks ago that I was going to be working on zoom over the summer to improve the accessibility, and I have already begun to do that. Every step of the way I have made frequent commits to opencompositing.org and described the progress in my blog. I asked for information about what your (David)

winbind problems with linux domain member
Hey everyone, I'm having some strange responses, and a bit of trouble with getting access to a member server on my domain. I've got Samba running on another Linux box as a PDC, and my Win2k clients can login just fine, and share between one another. The problem comes in with another Linux workstation that's setup as a member server. Here's the relevant smb.conf section from the

0.8-based Compiz work
For the last few weeks I've been fiddling with the 0.8 code-base, mostly because compiz got nuked in my distro and I had to do something, if for no other reason than to have a running WM. You can find my work at: https://github.com/KristianLyng/compiz (I'm also tracking issues there) I've done what I felt like doing, some of which would've been controversial/problematic 5 years

An Issue concerning FS2004
Hi! I've just installed FS2004. I am using version 0.9.54, as recommended in the AppDB. My Linux OS Is Debian Etch(4.0) With a fully capable processor(Games of such category run perfectly on Windows). Followed the instructions: Installed via the "WINXP" Mode, then switched to Windows 98. Here's the problem: The Splash screen is showing, then it disappears and these are the errors

"Which version should I use?"
This is a somewhat controversial subject which I only reluctantly bring up. I honestly believe that open discussion is the only way to run a project, and I apologize in advance if I offend anyone. I got what should have been an easy question on #compiz a few days ago. A user came in and asked "What version do you recommend I use?". I honestly didn't know what to say. >From a
