Requesting the removal of md5pass
Hi,
As a packager of syslinux, I would like to get rid of the dependency of
syslinux on Crypt::PasswdMD5, as it does not ship with RHEL/CentOS by
default and therefor is an additional hurdle for people on those
distributions to use a more recent syslinux.
(I am also involved with the Rear project that relies on a more recent
syslinux, and in various corporate environments need a recent

Howto create encrypted passwords with the simple menu in pxelinux
Hallo!
I am using pxelinux to boot the computers in my network. It works really
nice! One thing I have not figured out is how to use encrypted passwords
with the simple menu. Ofcourse it works with passwords stored in plain
text, but I would really like to use securely stored passwords.
I have tried to use the perl script "sha1pass" but this only ends up in a
heap of error messages. I

3.20-pre11 with password management
Hey folks,
I was trying the complex menu from the lastest pxelinux 3.20-pre11. It
did install a password file in the /isolinux/ of my tftpserver.
Then I try to authentificate myself as user3 with as password I've been
tranforming using sha1pass.
When I select login, the screen blink and doesn't ask me anything. I
reslect login, it ask me for a username.
I give user3 and then my

problem with PXElinux and security of local LAN
Hi.
I want to use PXELinux to build a dynamic boot menu for a computer lab.
Sometimes, the machines need to be in Linux mode/Windows mode/allow
the option of Linux/Windows. I configured this all fine with PXELinux.
My problem is really one of security. Someone can plug in a laptop
with a DHCP server, and tftp server and fake a lab machine to boot into
any mode they desire, or even

ast 1.2.x - cisco 7970 behind nat to external asterisk with no nat
Hi All,
As the subject describes, has anyone gotten this to work? I am running
an asterisk 1.2.16 server, and am trying to register my cisco 7970
remotely to it, but it just won't go.
I am running 1.4.2 internally and the phone registers fine to it. I'm
using the latest firmware (i think) - 8.2.1S
On the server in question I have tried the following for the sip declaration:

timekeeping on VMware guests
Howdy,
I am having time-drift issues on my CentOS VM. I had referred to
following documentation:
http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/VMWare_Server , however it didn't
help. I used kickstart for creating this VM and I am listing important
steps in ref to timekeeping issue. Any comments or suggestion would be
appreciated.

PXE / Kickstart / nfs ....
hello there,
I wonder if you could help me:
I am trying to install 50 diskless servers using PXE / kickstart, it all starts well, DHCP server issues a dynamic address, tftp issues the kickstart file, the client starts reading the KS file but at some point anaconda brings up an unhandled exception related to Python when reading Comps.xml??
What is really unsettling is the fact that if I plug

CentOS 7 kickstart question
Dear Experts,
Could somebody point to kicstart HOWTO specific for CentOS 7?
On CentOS 7 I somehow am always given human intervention questions about
drive which defeats unattended ks install.

I'm doing kickstart installations for quite some time, normally I was just

Kickstart network settings problem
I would like one of my kickstart scripts to prompt for disk and
networking only. Commenting out the disk and network settings makes the
installer prompt for disk settings but not for network settings, they
default to DHCP. Any idea's how to fix this?
Thanks
