Mongo backend for userdb and passdb
Hi,
I was wondering if any work had been made (out of tree) or has been
planned for a mongo driver? If not is it something that would be of
any interest for being included?

Unsuccessful with using mongodb with rails
I have had a frustrating time trying to get mongodb to work with Rails (works just fine with a plain Ruby app).
cannot load such file -- mongo
The error is traced to the code line <requires ''Mongo''>.
bundle initialize shows I have it all. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Oh, just thought that I should clarify this and I guess other things I said. I think there are two separate things we're possibly talking about in here:
1) Temporary state: This is

Appending BSON arrays in MongoDB with package 'rmongodb'
Dear list,
I simply can't figure out how to append an BSON array in MongoDB (with
package 'rmongodb') using either the '$push' or '$addToSet' operator.
It's sort of the last missing puzzle piece regarding CRUD operations, so
any hint will be greatly appreciated! Below you'll find a link to an SO
post where I provided a reproducible example and additional

Fastes database server for...
Hi,
I''m currently building a small rails application that needs to store web
traffic information. Similar to google analytics and clicky. (but
simpler) It needs to store refer domains and visitors. Integration goes
through a small javascript snippet.
My question is: What database server is the fastest and should I use for
this app?
I was thinking about SQLlite.
Thanks for your time,

Razor Mongodb related questions
I''m new to Razor and have two questions related to Razor Mongodb:
1. Is there available Razor object relationship diagram that describes
relationships between Razor slices?
2. Does Razor make use of Mongo''s JSON doc store features like automatic
secondary indexing on all JSON attributes?

Using Rtools with gcc 4.8.3
I started working on some R bindings for mongo-c-driver [1]. The C
library compiles fine on Ubuntu Trusty (gcc 4.8.2) and osx (clang),
however on my windows machine (gcc 4.6.3 from Rtools 3.1) it fails
with: 'INIT_ONCE_STATIC_INIT' undeclared. Google suggests that this
might be a problem in older versions of mingw-w64. So I grabbed a copy
of mingw-w64 version 4.8.3 and indeed, here the

Multiple Models one form and validations ... no transactions(mongo)
I am trying to setup a sigup form thats pretty much just like the
basecamp form. https://signup.37signals.com/basecamp/Plus/signup/new
I want to create
a User
a Studio
and a Subscription(chargify)
a Subscription belongs to a Studio and not to a User. User gets tagged
onto a Studio via an admin array.
Is there any way to do this all in one form and still get back

RFC: LNT/Test-suite support for custom metrics and test parameterization
Hi all,
As we understood great changes will be done in LNT, so we are waiting to new LNT version and stopped our work in LNT.
One more question about using test-suite separately with cmake. Cmake can only build all tests and generate lit tests. After that we can run LIT and get report which is not equal with report (simple) got with make. Cmake test-suite version has no features to run custom

Developer wanted for Rails-Mongo Knowledge Exchange improvements
We are searching for a developer to fork a Rails-based open source
Knowledge Exchange (see shapado.com) and add some innovative features
and extensions to this excellent codebase. The work will first involve
installing and maintaining the codebase and some customizations to
presentation layer.
If the KE fork works well ( it''s stable code, so it should be fine) ,
the project will lead to

Provisioning Windows
How do I go about provisioning a windows VM? I've added the iso to
cobbler using the following command.
cobbler image add --name=W2k8Prov --file=nfs://192.168.50.190/ovirt/w2k8.iso
The image then appears in the list of Operating Systems to choose when
creating a VM. I select the image when I create the VM but then when I
go to save I get the error:

code-metrics for ruby (on rails)
I''m searching for code analysing tools for Ruby (on Rails). I know
some tools for Java and DotNet but I can''t seem to find much for Ruby.
Things I''m interested in are metrics like coupling (fan-in, fan-out),
complexity (McCabe), inheritance nesting levels etc.
The only tools I found so far are saikuro(only mccabe) and kwala
(seems like a frontend for saikuro)

RFC: LNT/Test-suite support for custom metrics and test parameterization
Hi Elena,
Thanks for pushing forward with this. I like the idea of using a NoSQL
solution.
My primary reservation is about adding the new NoSQL stuff as an extra
backend. I think the current database backend and its use of SQLAlchemy is
extremely complex and is in fact the most complex part of LNT. Adding
something more (as opposed to *replacing* it) would just make this worse
and make it more

rspec2 observations
Just a few observations now that I have completed the upgrade from RSpec-1 to RSpec-2.
1. In my project (2800 examples across about 40 files), MRI 1.9.2-p0 takes roughly 3 times longer to complete the spec run. Runtimes grew from 2.2s (rspec 1.3.0) to 6.1s (2.0.0.rc).
2. Rubinius 1.1.0 runs RSpec-2 without error.
3. JRuby 1.5.1 runs RSpec-2 without error.
4. Both Rubinius and JRuby print a
