[threadsafe] Arel ToSql visitor is not threadsafe
Hey, We hit a bug today because Arel::Visitors::ToSql is not threadsafe. Here is what is happening: Arel::Visitors::ENGINE_VISITORS is a cache of visitors instances. These instances are not inherently threadsafe because it contains state ''@last_column'', ''@connection'' that is shared between threads. The other variables ''@pool'',

NoMethodError... but its not a method!
Hi everyone, I am putting together an application in which each part of it was tested individually. Now that it is put together, I''m having problems... The one giving me problems is my "ImportController" which parses a CSV during post and puts it into my database. I have two separate CSV upload actions (one is for a bill called "bes" and the other from the provider

I''m deploying an app (using Capistrano) to a staging server prior to final deployment. The app runs fine in dev, but in staging it throws a syntax error. How can that be? Looking for a special date function in R
Hello, everyone I wonder if R has something similar to Excel function EDATE(start_date; months) which returns a serial number of the date that is the indicated number of months before of after the start date. Example (the second column EDATE(first_column; -6)): 01.01.1999 01.07.1998 02.02.1999 02.08.1998 06.03.1999 06.09.1998 I am working with a zoo object where the row names are dates and for

What it exactly do these do ( RubyXL::Parser.parse and Roo::Excelx.new) when opening a file?
Do they open a file and load it into memory? I''m asking because it seems to take a long time opening a file but after it opens looping into the variable is REALLY fast, could someone explain me or tell me where can I find an explanaition on how this sort of things work? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk"

FasterCSV: ignoring returns within a db field
Hello, my goal is to import data into a MySQL-Database using FasterCSV: Does anyone have an idea how I can force FasterCSV to ignore carriage returns that occur within(!) a database text field and to read until "line feed" = end or row is reached? I tried to use option ":row_sep" but it did not work, it still uses the returns within the text field as end of row, too:

Fwd: Read a Number column with leading zeros using Roo gem
Hi all, I am trying to open and read a xlsx file, which I have attached. The upc column in that file, is the one I''m talking about. If I open the file in the Open Office Spreadsheet, it is correctly displaying with leading zeros. But if I read it with Roo gem it truncates the leading zeros. I understand this is the expected behavior since the column type is Number. But how is Open Office

When they upload their music to our site, they upload Mp3's of which some have entered the MetaData information in the MP3. Problem, musicians dont always do this, leaving the meta data very sparse.... When
