Bug#464969: xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-i386: Linux mmap()/vmsplice() exploit causes memory map corruption in hypervisor regardless of domain privilege
Package: xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-i386
Version: 3.2-1
Severity: critical
Tags: security
Justification: DoS of entire system regardless of privilege
When running the exploit listed in bug 464953 [1], Xen's memory state
becomes corrupted and the hypervisor eventually crashes, taking all of
the domU's with it. As such, this breaks operational behaviour, so I have
marked this as critical.

duqu
There's an article on slashdot about the Duqu team wiping all their
intermediary c&c servers on 20 Oct. Interestingly, the report says that
they were all (?) not only linux, but CentOS. There's a suggestion of a
zero-day exploit in openssh-4.3, but both the original article, and
Kaspersky labs (who have a *very* interesting post of the story) consider
that highly unlikely, and the

Web site not responding with Firefox 52.6.0 (64-bit)
I don't know if this is a CentOS7/Firefox problem or one with the distant
web site slashdot.org. I can connect to it just fine with the latest
Firefox on my Windows 10 desktop PC, but not with Firefox 52.6.0 on this
CentOS 7.4 laptop. This has been an on-going problem for several weeks.
Google search results are sketchy. slashdot.org may have been a DDOS
target today, but as I write this

firefox slow on 5.6
I have updated to 5.6 - GREAT job guys...
when I do "host slashdot.org" for example it comes back immediately.
when I enter slashdot.org on firefox it says "Looking up slashdot.org"
for a LONG time like 15 or 20 seconds
before continuing.
I have set network.dns.disableIPv6 true.
Any idea why firefox is so slow?

Linux malware attack
SlashDot had an article today on a Linux server malware attack,
<http://it.slashdot.org/story/14/03/18/2218237/malware-attack-infected-25000-linuxunix-servers>.
I wonder if there is a simple test to see if a CentOS machine
has been infected in this way?
The article mentions Yara and Snort rules to test for this,
but I wonder if there is something simpler?
Alternatively, are there Yara or
