Matching Caller ID against a database of knowncallers
Hi,
I use a simple script to query a 2 table's in a MySQL database. This is called using AGI.
The first one has got about 200 rows in it each one is a caller ID number and a name. If I get a match then I set CLI to "name <number>"
The second table has over 10,000 rows in it. It has all the telephone exchanges in the UK in it with the prefixes for the exchange. If I

performance.cache-size for high-RAM clients/servers, other tweaks for performance, and improvements to Gluster docs
Hi,
I'm trying to squeeze performance out of gluster on 4 80GB RAM 20-CPU
machines where Gluster runs on attached block storage (Linode) in (4
replicate bricks), and so far everything I tried results in sub-optimal
performance.
There are many files - mostly images, several million - and many operations
take minutes, copying multiple files (even if they're small) suddenly

auto voice msg from text?
Has anyone attempted to translate short text messages into to audio
file (or something like that), and send the result to a predetermined
pbx/cell number via asterisk?
I'm thinking in terms of an external application (something like an app
that watches syslog messages) initiating a system support call to the
individual responsible for whatever system generated that syslog msg,
with some sort

performance.cache-size for high-RAM clients/servers, other tweaks for performance, and improvements to Gluster docs
Hi again,
I'd like to expand on the performance issues and plead for help. Here's one
case which shows these odd hiccups: https://i.imgur.com/CXBPjTK.gifv.
In this GIF where I switch back and forth between copy operations on 2
servers, I'm copying a 10GB dir full of .apk and image files.
On server "hive" I'm copying straight from the main disk to an attached
volume

you definitely need mount options to /etc/fstab
use ones from here
http://lists.gluster.org/pipermail/gluster-users/2018-April/033811.html
I went on with using local mounts to achieve performance as well
Also, 3.12 or 3.10 branches would be preferable for production

Hi Vlad,
I'm using only localhost: mounts.
Can you please explain what effect each option has on performance issues
shown in my posts? "negative-timeout=10,attribute-timeout=30,fopen-
keep-cache,direct-io-mode=enable,fetch-attempts=5" From what I remember,
direct-io-mode=enable didn't make a difference in my tests, but I suppose I
can try again. The explanations about

badly mangled names from certain old apps
I just took on a new client who is having a curious problem with mangled
names. Here's the history as I understand it:
Originally they were on an NT server and there was no issue.
My predecessor moved them to a samba server running on gentwo. I do not know
what version of samba or how he moved the data, but when he did so, any files
and folders with more than 8 characters started

Wish I knew or was able to get detailed description of those options myself.
here is direct-io-mode
https://serverfault.com/questions/517775/glusterfs-direct-i-o-mode
Same as you I ran tests on a large volume of files, finding that main
delays are in attribute calls, ending up with those mount options to add
performance.
I discovered those options through basically googling this user list with

R Shiny Help - Trouble passing user input columns to emmeans after ANOVA analysis
Hello everybody,
I have experience coding with R, but am brand new to R Shiny. I am trying
to produce an application that will allow users to upload their own
dataset, select columns they want an ANOVA analysis run on, and generate
graphs that will allow users to view their results. However, I am getting
the following error: *"Argument is of length zero."*
Being new to Shiny, I am

I restarted rsync, and this has been sitting there for almost a minute,
barely moved several bytes in that time:

I straced each of the 3 processes rsync created and saw this (note: every
time there were several seconds of no output, I

Hi Vlad,
I actually saw that post already and even asked a question 4 days ago (
https://serverfault.com/questions/517775/glusterfs-direct-i-o-mode#comment1172497_540917).
The accepted answer also seems to go against your suggestion to enable
direct-io-mode as it says it should be disabled for better performance when
used just for file accesses.
It'd be great if someone from the Gluster team

kasan_map_early_shadow() on Xen
Andrey,
I believe that on Xen we should disable kasan, would like confirmation
from someone on xen-devel though. Here's the thing though -- if true
-- I'd like to do it *properly*, where *properly* means addressing a
bit of architecture. A simple Kconfig slap seems rather reactive. I'd
like to address a way to properly ensure we don't run into this and
other similar issues in the

centralized or decentralized puppet infrastructure
Hi All,
In my companies environment, we have multiple sites in multiple geographic
locations, sometimes with high latency between the sites.
I''m trying to come up with a solution that could provide puppet
infrastructure to all sites nodes.
----a few assumptions---
- puppet manifest / configuration is fetched from a centralized version
control system.
- store db is needed (ssh keys,
