Encoding issues when uploading files
Hello everybody,
I have some troubles with uploading files in my Rails project.
I use Rails 3, Ruby 1.9.2, rack 1.2.1, and both webrick / passenger on
apache
I was investigating and have isolated the strange behaviour on a
simple empty project:

[patch] fix bytesize in exception template; multibyte titleize
Hi all,
I wanted to draw some attention to a couple of very small multibyte-related
patches I believe should be included before Rails 3.0 RC1:
* Use String#bytesize rather than String#length in exception templates:
This is a simple case where string length is checked, but bytes is needed,
so it breaks with string with multibyte chars.

tests problem - NoMethodError: private method `gsub' called for 117681882:Fixnum
Hi,
i got very strange problem connected to tests in Rails. I got the same
application code version as my team has, and on their computer all tests
pass, and on my laptop (debian 5, ruby 1.8.6/1.8.7 (tried both), rails
2.3.2) i got more then 50 errors - majority of them is variations of
"NoMethodError: private method `gsub'' called for 117681882:Fixnum" error
in controller.

Icalendar.Parse(StringIO.new(aString)) complains about missing method, bytesize
I need to send an ics file to a web service, so however it gets there it
will arrive as a string. Is there another way to begin Icalendar''s Parse
than with a file?

rake db:migrate debacle
Hi there - I''m a ruby newbie and am stuck on the Getting Started with Rails
app. See output below. Problem arose when I ran the rake db:migrate
command. I also tried the ''rake db:migrate RAILS_ENV=development'' command
which may be obvious. Any ideas on how to fix this?

uninitialized constant ActionController::Flash::FlashHash [NameError])
My application, a very simple general ledger, that worked very well until

I successfully dumped the database in postgresql. Now I want to connect

Newbie trying to set up rails with MySQL

Trouble starting the server, HELP PLEASE!
can anybody tell me what is going wrong from the information taken
from the development log below. WHen i start WEBrick and try and view
