syncrepl in OpenLDAP 2.3.x (CentOS 5) and updating on a replica
Hi,
I have a setup with two CentOS 5 machines running OpenLDAP 2.3.x,
right now the primary uses slurpd to send the updates to the second
server, and the second server is using "updatedn" to allow updates
(from what I understand! I'm no OpenLDAP guru here.) Clients are using
pam_ldap and nss_ldap to get the users and authenticate them in LDAP.
Right now hosts query only the primary

openldap 2.3.x?
Hi,
Just wondering, has anybody thought of making openldap 2.3.x part of
centos plus? I had some problems with openldap 2.2.x, and all the
answers I got about it were to upgrade to 2.3. It seems 2.2 is dead
release nowdays, and openldap people do not recommend using it for
production anymore.

[PATCH] Compile cleaning against OpenLDAP 2.3.x
Hi List
Looks like OpenLDAP 2.3 doesn't define LDAP_DEPRECATED [1] anymore which
causes a few warnings in Gentoo [2].
Attached is a patch that re-defines this so that dovecot can continue
using simple functions like ldap_bind().
Thanks
Roy

Disable IPV6
Hi
On a CentOS 4.x box how does one disable IPV6?
Is adding "alias net-pf-10 off" to the end of modprobe.conf and a reboot
still the 'standard' way of doing this ?
thanks

samba 4 & preexisting openldap servers
Hi all,
We currently have a pair of openldap servers that we use pretty heavily for
some of our web product authentication and for radius. We recently added the
samba3 schema and got sambaNTPassword hashes created for our users so that
we could implement PEAP/MSCHAP to simplify our radius authentication. We
don't currently have AD or a samba PDC.
We have a physical samba file server

Poor performance with openldap 2.3.x (Berkeley DB 4.3 or 4.4) on XEN 3.0.x
Dear all,
With or without /lib/tls librairies activated, A search in openldap is very slow on XEN 3.0.x . Cpus do nothing .
15000 entries are dumped in 2 minutes whereas same search without xen are dumped in 4 seconds (with far more activitie on CPUs)
I have already see one or mail about this problem . But I don''t see a solution , perhaps a threading problem between Berkeley DB and

ldap, 2.3 primary, 2.4 secondary
Hi all,
Is it possible to use a 2.3 OpenLDAP primary while having a 2.4 OpenLDAP secondary?
Currently I have all at 2.3 (Centos 5) but am needing to up a remote facility to Centos 6 before doing the main facility to 6.
Hoping I can mix and match but it looks like I may not be able to.
My LDAP secondaries pull the DB over pretty frequently so I would be doing the same thing here.
I would have

IDEALx tools & OpenLDAP 2.1.x
Since I am trying to learn both Samba3 & OpenLDAP 2.1.x, I found the
IDEALx tools very useful, but needing some modifications to work. Here
is my post to the IDEALx mailinglist - maybe it's helpful to someone in
here (NOTE: I'm using the IDEALx tools from CVS since those are the only
ones that work with Samba3 yet):
I've modified the Samba tools to work with OpenLDAP

Is anyone successfully using Solaris 8/Samba 3.0.x w/ads and OpenLDAP > 2.1.22?
Has anyone had success getting OpenLDAP > 2.1.22 to work with Samba
and ADS.
I can get 2.1.22 to work with Samba 3.0.x. If I try a newer version,
it barfs when it calls ldap_set_option in function ads_do_search.
I've tried with 3.0.14a and 3.0.20pre2.
They changed how OpenLDAP interacts with Kerberos after 2.1.23. I did
exchange some emails with the OpenLDAP developers. It wasn't
